Beating the 46 defense

Ok, I hope someone out there can help me with this. My friend loves to play the 46 every defensive play. Sometimes everything I try won't work, He mixes it up good. Some plays blitz some plays coverage, maybe i'm being to predictable, but what is a good offensive play to beat this?

When I try to pass, he usually sacks the qb. When I run, the line is stacked so I get 2-3 yrds or none. :confused:

Did I mention he likes to control the safety. Just learned a quick pass, maybe that would help some, but there must be an easy way to beat this 46 defense.

if he is in man..try some tosses and sweeps. Usually the LB's and DT's are bunched up and you can get to the outside.

Stay committed to the run. if you can break past the first level in a 46 you can take it to the house cause there really ain't much help back there.

Try short passes. Hit your FB or RB2 in the flats cause alot of times the 46 doesn't account for it.

right on, use formations you can get more blocking in like shotgun 2 rb 3 wr or something. if he really balances man and zone it will be tough but if he favors zone you can find a hole with max protection and with man you can throw him deep if it's cover 1 or 3 with no man.

What 46 are we talking about? Bear or str8 46? For the 46bear, flood the left side(weak side of the 46 bear.) If in the 46 force him to have to play cover 1. Use the slot strong, SBtwin TE SB trips bunch. You will have an easy read, becuz the strong safety that is right in front of you will show you what defense. Also slants destroy the 46 if man.

I was having that same problem against the 46 Defense. My #1 rival uses the 46, what I did against him was used all of my audibles. I came out in a singleback 4WR set then I hit him with short passes. I used lots of motions to get three WR's on one side, and I hit my back running to the flats. When I knew he was in the 46 bear I would audible to a shotgun with 3WR's on one side. Eventually that game he switched his defense to the base 46 then I ran right up the gut. If they blitz alot hit em' with quick passes to get them out of blitzing.
