Stop the Goaline O

As everyone is aware of, madden screwed the game up this year with goaline O. I don't have the perfect plays to stop it everytime, but I have a good strategy. Take control of the pace. If you put up points, it doesn't matter what O they run, just that they match you points. Goaline O is hard to consistintly stop, but you can stop it. If you put up a couple of quick scores, usally your opponent will start to panic, and based on the fact that a lot of people use goaline as their primary O, i figure they can't do nothing in the passing game, leading to picks and mistakes. 85% of the people that run goaline that I've played abbandon it after being down 2 scores. If you can control the clock, it makes you even more dangerous. I don't give up to many huge runs so goaline O takes a while to produce anything. Try getting the ball back a half also. That way you put pressure on them to score before half, or you can run the clock down and try to score yourself and get the ball right back. Bottom line is players that run the goaline O cant take the pressure or lack the skills to play the game, so make them pay

EA made a great game. there is nothing wrong with the Goaline formation. The only thing screwed up is people trying to combat a goaline heavy package with a defense that has 2 corners in the game matched up on tightends and people refusing to get off blocks manually. Controlling the pace is not a substitute for learning to play defense. Good players can STOP the run when they know it is coming. So can you. Running your safety at the play will not get the job done consistantly. Switching to your DE or DT quickly along with good play calling will stop that off tackle play for little or no gain most of the time because you will be gang tackling, not just hoping your safety makes the one on one tackle. Or just keep doing what you are doing if you are happy with the results.

Good defence is always the way to go. But i'm sure your going to run into the goaline O where good defence dosn't always work. It's frustrating to some people to stop goaline O when it's against a fast back who breaks outside or a bruiser that racks up 3-4 up the middle every play. If you face one of these try my strategy.

Here is what I hate most. There are some guys out there who have an offensive scheme other than goal line. You can tell they do because if they get the ball first they will come out in 3WR ect. But if you shut them down, then you get the ball and go get a TD, here it comes every play LOL.

Back in the day there was a play that used to obliterate Goal Line runs. It was the 3-4 Normal SS Blitz. I forgot how we used to set that up though. It probably won't work but that used to be the play that would destroy runs from goal line.
