VG Defensive Guide

Does anyone know the link to the newest VG Defensive Guide? I found one from Madden 2005 is that the newest? If it is does anybody know if it works for 2007 still???

Because of random blitz angles that were introduced in 06, some of the predetermined blitzs are no longer sure fire. One way to combat that is to hold the blitzing player with either the R2 button or L2 button, and then press x and o to release the player he will then go find the QB.

However the concept of shifting the dl, and lb's in opposite ways in hopes of opening up a whole or angle for the blitz to come through still works.

No, it doesn't apply at all to 2007. In 2005 blitzers ran where they were supposed to, now they just pick a gap to run through. Everything in the 2005 VG defensive guide is a 'nano' ie consistent A gap blitzes. Actually I didn't care for that product quite as much as the other stuff they've put out.

In answer to your question yea, it's the newest one.

They didn't do one for '06, and they say they'll do one for '07 but that remains to be seen because big b chronicled how hard it is to do one.

Just run a search for defense on the forum. Daone did a couple of writeups (under calvinandhobbs) with other people adding their thoughts, which has really helped my D tremendously. I now love that side of the ball just as much as my O now that I have a better understanding of different philosophies and which one to apply to my own style of play.

Yes, there is a VG defense guide for 2007. I got it when Maddeon 07 came out, but I can't find the link. It shows all plays off/def of everytime, off. Advice and def. advice.

We plan on doing one, but the problem is with random blitz gaps, makes it real hard to get any type of consistent heat. What we can do is show some different schemes to counter different types of plays.

Alright. I understand completely the problem with the random blitz routes man. So do you think that the 05 guide still works on 07? Not actually the whole things just some of the stuff in it.

Kobra, I bought a guide when Madden 07 came out. Where's that? It had off/def advice with rosters and pb's.
