The Cardinals special-teams coach noticed a flaw in Neil Rackers' technique a couple weeks ago. Perhaps a result of an injury suffered late last season. Conclusion: Rackers was inconsistent in his approach. He sometimes started too far away, especially on longer kicks, causing him to reach for the ball, pulling it wide.

The fact that Green Bay running back Ahman Green successfully completed another practice Thursday was seen as a strong indication that he will be able to finally play when the Packers take on Miami on Sunday.

Curtis Martin is supposed to start practicing in two or three weeks, but he may never step on the field again. In a 10-minute interview yesterday at his locker, Martin seemed conflicted on whether to resume his career.

Colts defensive tackle Corey Simons, placed on the team's non-football injury/illness list this month, is expected to file a grievance against the team with the NFL Players Association to try to get the remaining $1.9 million of his 2006 salary.
