Does anyone have advice on how to react to the ball when your defender has his back to the quarterback? When manually controlling the defender, it is easy to hit the A button to swat the ball or the Y button to try and intercept when the defender is facing the quarterback. However, on deep balls when the defender has turned his back to the quarterback to run with the receiver, choosing either the A or Y buttons does not appear to have any effect. Does anybody have a technique they use in this situation?

I'm getting a lot better at this actually as I defended alot of deep passes yesterday. I just hold down the A button and get next to the WR. Even if I am slightly behind him. The DB does a good job MOST of the time of jumping up and swatting. Now if the WR is too far out in front forget it, just try to make the tackle when he catches it. If you are running stride for stride with the WR, undercut it, hold the strafe button and the INT button.

Just to clarify, can you hold down on the A button, or do you have to time it and press it to swat? Same question for the strafe and intercept button? Thanks a lot in advance, this is the most difficult part of defending the deep ball.
