I recently picked this game up and I know little about basketball. I enjoy watching and playing some pickup but besides that I know almost nothing. With this game having such a small manual and almost no tutorials how do I learn this game and get better ? Any ideas ? This game needs a basketball 101 and some more drills and things.

Well, I suggest watching some basketball on TV. The college season is coming up and that would be a good time to get into it and understand the spirit, technicals/fundamentals, and strategy of the game.

No I meant I am having more trouble with the game itself of Live. I know enough about real life basketball to be effective. I know how most plays are run basically but I have trouble running them in game and the controls and such.

i have live... been playing live since 04 i think... but last year and this year are horrible... im gonna probally go pick up 2k7.... unless ur playing p2p and not the cpu or online.. this game is junk... p2p is fine becuase u can ajust all the sliders to make the game more realistic... but IF YOU ARE GONNA play it.. i suggest going into practice mode and just messing around...getting all the controlls down.. if you go into controller config u can see all the controlls and what they do also...

I stopped playing live because it was to arcadish. I like a good sim so to speak, so I love the 2K games. I still wish there was another game besides madden.

You should really try 2K7, most people do like it. The new addition this year is on the fly substitutions. This is awesome. No more pausing the screen to change players. You can actually see them get up from the bench and get ready to check in too. There is so much more, but now I am hooked on Tiger Woods 07.:D
