Audibles?

I am very confused on how to use audibles well. What do you set them as and do you run them all out of the same formation?

Think of audibles as your back up plan (later they will become part of your game plan). If you choose a play you want to run, and when you get to the line you don't like what you see on the defense, then you should audible. Set your audibles according to what you could possibly see. For Example you might see: Man coverage, zone, Blitz, Overload, etc.

It might be a good idea to have a audible set for each look you might face, or for what your opponent likes to do. have runs and passes set. This should help.

1. Inside run
2. Outside run
3. Pass play that works best against zone
4. Pass play that works best against man
5. Play Action play

I'm kind of like Peyton. This means when I pick a play I have six plays at my finger tips and when I get to the line I call which ever play I think will work best against what the defense is showing me.

BTW, I usually pick a play that works well against heavy blitz this way I'm set for any situation.

Nope. Some people do but I don't.

if you set your audibles from the same formations, therefore when you audible your opponent won't be able to recognize the formation of your play calling. remember some guys are so good that they'll recognize your audible pattern and then it's over. i like to work out of the Singleback 4 WR Spread and i set my audibles from the same playbook, defenses have an extremely difficult time adjusting to this offense. here's an example:
1) i pick a PA play
2) audible 1: HB Slam
3) audible 2: HB Slash
4) audible 3: HB Draw
5) audible 4: HB Toss
6) audible 5: a pass play
so you see it's difficult for a defense to see what play you audible into because when your QB audibles no one moves and therefore cannot tip the defense off

true but if you get one where you change the formation and everyoone the defense gets confussed and dosent know what is going on so they might get a wrong coverge and you are wide open

For the past 2 years, I've used the same audibles. They are my 4 best plays and a FAKE PUNT.

Square: I Form 3WR - HB Blast
X: Split Backs - Pass Play (not sure which one, I hot route it to death)
O: Singleback Normal - TE Post (Best Play)
L1: Weak I Twin WR - Flat Pressure
R1: Fake Punt Pass 2

I audible to one of these plays about 30% of the time... Then hot route. Sometimes I call plays with the intention of calling the audible at the LOS. My system of audibles uses tons of motion, audible, then motion again.
