If you are ever doing a fantasy draft, be sure not to get caught up on looking at the CTH attribute because that training camp drill is so god damn easy. Take Lelie, he has like 83 CTH and 96 spd. put in the time to do the drill and hes a 90/96. Pretty good stuff... ok just babbling... thoughts?

yep, catch is way overrated.

people will take guys like Matt Jones and Lelie over WR's like Rod Smith and Hines Ward. when you got that size-speed combo, your hands don't really matter because you'll have the ability to make catches a lot of other WR's cant.

ask Drew Carter. sure he will drop a few, but the reward and big play ability is worth it.

i coudltn disagree more. playa game with fitzgerald or boldin and you will see why... wait until they are triple covered, and throw a bullet pass ot them... it will magically go through the defenders and they catch it.

Gonna agree with JJ for the 2nd time in life ever.
Wr's with high catch ratings, catch EVVVverything.
Not to mention post-tackle they will hold onto the ball, whereas some of those big/tall/fast/avg catch wr's get downfield, elude the defender, make a super jump, go up catch the ball, get normally tackled and the ball comes out.

Funny that Pat mentioned Matt Jones. lol SadButTrue had him in the superbowl and his 77 cth kept dropping everything.

I'm gonna have to disagree to. I play with the falcons and while Lelie is good, he doesn't catch everything. There are times when he just wont catch the ball or he'll catch it and drop it, or get a normal hit and drop it. I have played Steve Smith a lot and I have done everything including btch slapping him and he hardly ever drops the fcking ball. Catch matters.

I agree with the last 3 i use the panthers alot and even with his upgraded catch Drew Carter still cant make a catch to sve his life im tired of getting one on one deep on a small corner such as a Allen Rossum jumping over him and watching it bounce off his hands then i can throw to 5'9 steve smith and hell somehow get up and holdon in triple coverage.

Well, when I do a fantasy draft, I need to know if catch attribute really is overrated, because I would like to draft my #1 guy to be a possession reciever, and my #2 guy to be a fast burner. it annoys me that I can't find the height on fantasy drafts either, so I dont know who's tall or not. can anyone tell me some younger possession/tall recievers?

You wanna be in the 80s.. 85+ prefered.

Drew Carter in his 67 days.. foreget about it.. hit and miss.. I mean against GOOD players you don't get lots of big play opportunities.. so when you get Carter out there for the big play and he drops it.. and he does about 50% of the time.. then you wont think Catch is so overrated.

Just go here:

You get all the info you want. THe different dates represent the different roster updates put out by EA. The Top one is the most recent.

If you're picking a WR w/ your #1 choice he better be Fast, Tall AND with Good hands.

Moss, TO, Roy Williams, Walker, Andre Johnson, Matt Jones... I'm sure I missed a few out there.

some good tall young recievers are Matt Jones Mike Williams Michael Jenkins Clarence Moore Marques Colston Reggie Williams Chris Henry Vincent Jackson ( not naming the obvious ) all these guys are over 6-4 with hops but cant hold on to it most of the time

those of you who said u disagree seemed to skip over the part where i mentioned the training camp drill and gaining 7 cth points, thats the whole point of this thread. you only need one guy who originally has good hands, the other just needs like 78 and speed and if you dont blow a$$ at the Catch Ball drill then he will be fast with at least 85 catch. thats the point i was trying to make. not sure how it got confused

I think some people are talking about playing online or vs a human opponent, where you can't magically add 7 catch to a crappy receiver.
