Honest tip guys: you should put something more useful than HB Plunge and HB Slam on your preview for the guide.

I WANT the guide, but only because I've seen BigB's stuff before... not because the preview is blowing me away.

Good call. I'll be changing that up shortly. That's what I had handy at the moment.

No problem. I KNOW your products are top shelf. Just wanna make sure everyone else gets that same picture.

P.S. You know who to get in touch with when you get these Ebooks to work for Macs!!! ;)

Are you getting one of the new Intel Macs? Now that they boot windows I have the feeling that the software guys won't bother with a native OSX version of Ebook Pro.

:( Nope.

I gotta G4 Powerbook... and I'll HAVE to have it for another 3 years (bastards are expensive).

Alas... no love for us Mac users [...begins weeping...]

Let me say that I love vg, will be buying the guide and support you guys any other way I can. Having said that....

I don't know, maybe I'm the only one that feels this way but......

I feel kinda slighted with compression 201 being given out as a bonus with 301. I bought 201. I'm gonna buy 301.
So I guess this means that I don't get a bonus cause I PAID for 201. I was one of those who helped make it a best seller.

I can appreciate big b feeling grateful for all the love and support from community members but to give it to those who didn't pay for it last year is kinda wrong to those of us who did show the love and support by buying it last year.

Life's not fair, I know this, but what about those of us who spent our hard earned cash last year? We get nothing :(

But I'm not one of those who complain and don't present a solution to the problem that I'm complaining about. So here it is (drumroll)

Can I get the new guide big b will release later this month as a gift instead of compression 201 which I already PAID for? I think this will make both sides happy...:D

VG_Bert
11-02-2006, 03:55 PM
I'm sorry but the 201 guide will be the only one given away as a bonus, you can't get a future guide for free.

You've had a whole year to use it. The only reason B included it with this year's guide is that we didnt' want to have to rehash old content in the 301 guide. It would just take up more space.

That material is foundational to what we put in 301 and would have been included, but we left it out to save on the size of the download (already 30mb)

We greatly appreciate your support, don't doubt me on that.

But if you bought Madden 07 and EA gave you a copy of Madden 06 for free and you already had it, do you think they should give you 08 for free the next year instead?

oouie433
11-02-2006, 04:12 PM
Well,

Knowing me, I'd take it ('06) down to my nearest eb games or gamestop and trade it in :D

It's cool, can't blame a brutha for tryin :D

I wonder what pb eveyone will be converting to after they purchase the guide. My guess would be tampa bay, good compressed sets, plenty of quick hitters and the best sb formations. Cant wait to try some of this out on the 360 damn i hate not having formation shifts this year. Oh well lets see what i can cook up with some motion. Time to test out some plays. Thanks for another great guide BigB :)

Just got the 301 today - I haven't had a chance to go through every part, but the TB section is incredible. I never thought that I'd switch from Oak PB but I took a bunch of these plays and formation shift options to the lab and i'm seriously thinking about changing books. Unless i can find a way to incorporate some of these philosophies to OAK PB, because I think OAK has a two exclusive formations as well, which to me seems to be the most advantageous aspect of the TB PB. The SB Bunch TE is one of the best formations I've ever come across. To me this formation seems to be the compression at it's purest.

Also, for those of you out there who are on the fence about buying this book - the open house WBC plays alone are worth buying this. For $24.95 it really is a great value.

Hey man if you play with the Saints, the Aint's, or the want too's of the world you better get this mfo. I only looked at it for a minute an it is nasty the wbc plays are off the chain and i havent even mentioned the play book break downs or the bnr beaters. I was truly satisfied with 210 but 301 blows it out the water imo. Great job bigb-wbc and all who had a hand in it. How do they come up with this **** do you how many hours of lab work it took to come up with this.

I got a download problem and it looks pretty bad. I purchased the book and tried to download the book but my browser froze so I did not finish the download. You guys didn't make it possible to go back and download it again. On top of that, when I tried to download 201, the sreen went to a bunch of weird characters. PLUS there were no username and password for 201.

Yeah I submitted a ticket but I don't expect it to be looked at for at least a week. I was really looking forward to reading what you wrote BigB. YOu guys should email download instructions as well as the username and passwords for your books. There is always the possibility that we might want to put the books on a different computer.

I've bought all the previous versions of the compression series. The only reason I still don't have the 301 with me is because I am on the 360 this year. Has anyone playing exclusively on the 360 bought this guide, if so I would like to hear from you.

Or should I just go ahead and buy it and bank on Bert's money back guarantee .. ;)

Kudos to Big B and all the other involved in introducing me to the compression theory. Ever since my Offense has been at a whole new level.

eta when this will be done?

Few questions:
If I take plays out of ur guide (for cg) and put them on my xbox 360 will i get same reads and results or will it play out different and if so will need to learn to read myself? Also does CG and NG have the same plays like u have an example of singleback tight doubles play, will that same exact play be on NG? Lastly, do these schemes rely heavily on formation shifts to get the mismatches and reads. Im seeing if i should wait for NG version of the guide and ty for your time in the book too

-Also does the 201 include NG or just CG?

Kobra put the pics in for me. I seen that many of the sections had repeats of the same pics. Once this tech problem clears up I will make corrections and you can re-download the guide. I also seen many typos too. :D I was rushing to get this thing out for everyone. Just read the text and hit the lab and you will see what i was saying. If you have any questions hit me up.

I have been having problems winning simply because I've jumped from playbook to playbook, not keying in on one and learning it. Therefore I made a vow to myself that I wasn't going to change anymore. I run with Baltimore Offensive PB and was wondering if this PB was one of the ones mentioned as a offense to use as a compression. OR is it that MY PB would have plenty of plays from the Guide that are IN My PB? Please let me know asap and respond with an honest answer. I am a prude consumer and I like to know what I'm getting and if it's worth the money I pay out. Thanks in advance.

The thing with the compression guides is that they're NOT playbook breakdowns. BigB teaches you a scheme that when you learn and understand the principles, then you can apply it to the playbook of your choice....

Yes you can use this guide if you're on the 360. This thing is that you have to understand that this guide is about a scheme. If you have a compressed set in your playbook the defense still have to honor the offensive overload. The things that you can't do on the 360 you overlook that and work on the other stuff. LB Rulez did a write-up on a compressed set play in the filmroom showing how the compression scheme works on the 360.

We talked about this via PM. We need to get out of the mind frame of playbooks and systems. This is a scheme guide. This guide can be used in real football and well as the game. If you have a Pop Warner team and have 3 kids on one side. The defense has to defend those WR's via man or zone. The same goes for the game. Now B More like I mentioned via pm has Singleback Bunch, Singleback Trips-TE, Singleback 3 TE, I twins-TE, I twins Tight, Weak Twin-TE, and Strong Twin-TE. You have many compressed sets that you can use, and all of them except for the singleback allow you to formation shift to them. This guide will help you in more ways than one because it will get us out of the playbook main frame that we are in. This book will allow you to go to any playbook, get in, and have a good understanding on how to move the ball. Get the guide and look at the reviews that people are giving. It will help you.

Amazing...simply amazing. I think I'm finally getting the hang of this Compression thing. The last game I played I was the Eagles and I was moving the ball up and down the field without much trouble. It finally clicked. I started to put together what was in the guides and it worked. I don't have it all the way down but I think I got the basics. I haven't yet used the marrying of routes yet but when I do I'm gonna be a bad mutha....SHUT YO MOUTH!!

For those who are like me at the beginning stages, you really need to read both 201 and 301 together to get it down. There are a few things that 201 covers that 301 doesn't that can really help you.

Final thoughts:
1. B you is a miracle
2. Seattle's playbook is nasty

Yo B you hit this one out of the park. In my Franchise, my first game vs. the Bears. I had my best game ever with the Pats. Brady was like 142 passer rating, 26-35 with 4 td's and 462 yards against the Bears. I know it was the CPU but DAMNN!

Anyway I am playing in the EAFL-E and getting smacked a little, those cats play some serious D. But now I got somethin for that azz!

Thanks again B. I'll lab a few mo plays and put em up too. That Slot Strong Fl Clearout play with the formation shift is off the chain.

And by the way I am a third year compression student of yours.

Yo B loved your interview, and the 301 book has stepped up game against these EAFL-E cats who like to user pick and sit on routes. I'm just takin what they give me now. I mean I am killin em in the flats. I might even get a new moniker Lord of the Flats! Of course watch out for that CB sitting in a cover 2.

Along the way of basic plays the I-form Twin Slants is nice especially if you either pull a HB flat route or motion the HB out and PM the HB on a streak. Something has got to give.

I bought the 301 Ebook last week and it have some awesome info, but im having some problems implementing the plays. I lab for hours trying to get them right. One of my biggest problem is pass leading. When I do get the defense in a uncovered WR I cant hit him before he is getting covered. It seems when I do a quick pass off the line to flats or slants even corner routes the QBs accuracy is soo off, im thinking its me,but is it possible that the QBs cone dont work the same on quick passes. Dolphins squad is the team im playing with at the moment. Oh, and another thing is the awarness when i formation shift (example: I call a singleback normal with a RB in the slot, audible into far tight twins which brings him at the FB position and run a flat) almost 7 out of 10 "bump" the ball hits the back of the head the the person in the flat unless i lame duck the ball which causes a Def.Touch if someone has a good stick and is watching the flats. If any suggestions on passing please help either im doing something wrong or the system isnt design for this to work. Also, Wheres my Virtual Playbook Bert is been almost 5days im getting killed online.

I know what you mean cuz. I come out sb 4 wide and nobody covers slot 2 i tryin snap and throw lb slides over and pick it. sb trips te the defense is playing two over three out there i should be able to take advantage of this call hot snap n throw follow my blockers just like real life spread teams do if you don't cover a reciever in the trips formation.

When you use the un-covered WR theory and your timing is a problem try this. Hot route that un-covered WR to do a drag away from the formation or a fade route. Once you hike the ball pass lead away. You will see that the WR will slide away from the defender and the defender will hit the dirt. This is a tip that Squeeze flew in when my timing was off. Once you get your timing up you will be able to use whatever route. By the time you hot route in many cases the person cover the person that was un-covered. This hot route tip can help you get your timing down. That player has to be your primary tho.

For the past week I've been working on this too. I noticed that I was throwing passes off of the QBs back foot. So, I would snap the ball, move backward, and then try to complete passes accurately. I'm trying to stop the QB just before I pass so that the passes are more accurate with the pass lead options. Moving backward and passing is a bad habit and I'm convinced it's directly tied to bad passing/lack of accuracy.

The key is to lock your cone on the person and pass lead away from the defender. This is something that I had to work on for like a day or so. The locking on the wideout allow you to improve on the person getting the ball without the back foot thing. This is really the key to quick passing really.

people that haveproblems with your guides...send me your info via pm. As for the guides...hold off a bit till 401 comes out.

As for the NG oakland guide user. LOL You can still do your thing with Oakland...it's just hard to do it under the center. The key is that you have to think old school. The game has everthing that was on older games to a degree. If you weren't playing then the game is hard to you. The main key is that the compressed set allows you to make solid pre-reads. This is why I thried to train people to in regard reads from the hike. Top players make nothing easy. So they hide their coverages very well. It's very hard to hide anything on NG. You have the chance to see if it's man or zone. Then once you see that you attack.

You need both really. I have found that running both schemes work very well. You see if you're playing a cat that is nice with shutting down compressed sets you need something to fall back on. Then the other thing is that you can't defend both the same.

Hello VG Sports;

I have purchased the Compression 301 guide. Very nice, lots of good info. I have a couple of questions. I play on the Xbox 360. The guide mentions offensive line shifts, smart routes, smart zoness, and man lock on & off. I am thinking the 360 does not have these ooptions. Am i missing something?

Keep up the good work.
