ok i have been playing a friend of mine and he plays with the cowboys and i play with the ny giants. he uses a play in the I FORMATION the play is PA TE LEAK and he is passing to jason whitten. i have tried about everything and i cant figure out how to stop whitten from getting wide open and catching it. this play is his bread and butter and if anybody can show me how to stop this play i will appreciate it alot. thanks
any kind of advice will be useful we are playing for charity for united way at our job so i have to beat him in front of every 1. thanks

witten aint gonna b able to outrun no defensive back so keep him in front of you. either pressure bledsoe so he dont even have time for wittens route to develope, or sit in a zone, or manually be the safety which works best. theres no excuse for a guy like witten to b beatn you, just keep him in front of you and dont let him get downfield

blitz with pass commit.
The pass commit will make sure that your lbs do not bite on the playaction and by the time he is done doing the fake, he should be getting sacked.

Using single man on a good TE who is running a corner or fade is suicide if you know it's coming. The Ravens book has a Double TE play out of the 3-4, FYI - it's not foolproof, but I take the safety and try to guard outside toward the line.

If you don't mind giving a little less pass rush pressure on the play... drop ur DE into the flats on which ever side he lines him up on, the contact will slow him down and ruin the timing.
I find most of my plays to the TE involve very quick timing.
