Now i've been a manual catch guy for awhile now, and i feel that it was a lot easier to have an edge with it in 06 than 07.. I play with the falcons and if i do a lob to lelie i can burn most corners deep. However, if i switch to him (While holding sprint mind you) i always seem to come up short. I used to be able to burn people on those deep routes with my stick but it seems like i'm always just a little short now.. I'm not sure if its because when i switch the reciever loses burst speed or what.. Has anyone else noticed this?

I've noticed this too and it's annoying as hell. What I do is wait for the WR to get close enough to the ball on his own (maybe 3-5 yards) then I click on him. That way I only need a small burst to get seperation and make the catch.

make sure your already pushing up (or towards the flight of the ball) before you switch and then switch and turbo in a quick 1-2 motion.

yeah i think switching right before would solve my problem. A huge issue i'm having with the deep ball is they plain out drop the ball.. My WR will be WIDE open, no one for at least 10 yards and just drop the catch.. This happens a ton with Lelie, he's really fast so I sub him in when i want to throw a bomb then 40 percent of the time he drops it. The falcons really lack a #1 wr.. but that's beside the point. Would doing a manual catch at the last second improve my chances of the catch?

yup, and you can even hold turbo down before you press switch player although i'm not sure if that helps at all

i've noticed this problem also though and sometimes i get the feeling that on random occasions the ball is just passed too far and you can't do anything about it, since even holding turbo and analog stick up you can't reach it in time on some passes - if anyone can confirm or reject this, please do.

thanks. Does anyone know if manual catching improves the chance of an open field catch? Granted they don't need positioning..

I like catching manually but what pisses me off is when I hit up too late. The WR stops and goes cuz its not already held down. Happens on D too.

Most teams have real short DB's.. If you want a team that has height all over the place use Arizona with Boldin and Fitzgerald, those guys can jump out the building..

User catch is the BEST!!!!!!! Never let the computer catch a ball for u unless its a quick pass... When people play zone throw it long if you have a tall receiver.. I use Denver and when i know the team is playing zone i might just go long with Marshall, Jackson and my man Walker...These guys are beast's with the manual catch...Its really gonna be one on one once u get so far down the field depending if there playing cover2,3,or 4........

A lot of people dont know how or just wont user catch and its funny when you play someone like that and catch balls with 2-3 defenders around you and you know there scratching there head like wtf??????
