Backing the Corners up 3-4 yards

I play on PS 2, I have been beating my friends with the deep ball, but now they found out how to back their corners up 3 to 4 yards and I can't beat them, but I don't know how to do it. How do you back your corners up, without the safeties backing up also? Someone please help me out!

Press, Triangle+The button of the nearest reciever next to the CB you want to back up + Up on the D-pad. That individually backs up each corner.

Its most likely what BOOBOO said but its possible they are using dime flat and it LOOKS like the CBs are backed up more.
