there is no help with that problem...
colts just simply suck versus someone running the ball against them. That's the situation in reality and that's the situation in madden also :D

It's my personal opinion that the Colts' defense just wasn't designed to be a great run-stopping unit. That's because they were designed for shootouts. I think when the current coaching staff came onboard they looked at how prolific the offense was and knowing that teams would have to throw it in order to keep up, they decided they needed a defense that was fast and could rush the passer, which in fact, they are very good at. The problem is, no one is dumb enough to put themselves in that position.
The Colts want you to panic and abandon your running game. That's when they've got you. That could be said of many teams, but more so with the Colts. I don't know of any other team that actually designed their defense around their offense.
Oh well, back to the drawing board.

Please Someone Anyone Tell Me How To Stop The Run When Playing With The Colts Ive Tried Everything Nothing Seems To Work
I use Colts sometimes. And, either I can shut down the run, or I just haven't played someone with a good run game. But, here is what I do. I run a 3-4 d, NYJ book. I start out by making changes to the depth chart. I move Brock to RE, Freeney to LOLB. Freeney is a beast coming off the edge on a blitz. I Sub Reagor in at DT2 so he is in that spot when running Dime or Nickel. I sub rookie LOLB Keiaho at MLB 2. He is only an overall 60 at that spot, but he has 84 speed & agility, 86 acc and 60 catch, great in pass coverage. Only downfall is awareness. Rookie Jennings at Corner...96 speed and acc, David, Hayden and Rushing is the other corners I put in. Marlin Jackson at FS and Bob Sanders at SS. Sanders 93 speed is great at that spot, plus he can hit hard. If I want Freeney to play end in Dime, I just put in the lb pass rush package at the play screen.
As far as shutting down the run, it's all about the defensive plays you are calling. I like 2 man under, and 3-4 Solid trio sky. Trio Sky Zone is a zone blitz, designed for pass d, but if you make some adjustments to it, it is a great run d. Just need to watch out for tosses and sweeps to the weak side.

to use the colts you must have a good offense. early on you need to crowd the box and manually use sanders to guard deep. this will force passes. you need to make stops. if you get them to pass, then you spread the dline and let freeney and mathis work their magic.
one of the main things i like to do with them is with the 43. spread and crash the dline and pinch the lbs. this keeps the pressure on if they pass, any PA will probably end up in a sack. also, if in this formation and worried about deep pass because of their slow corners, just pm your safeties zones out. always bump and run and cover with sanders. this gives freeney even more time.
controlling a fs is very good against the run once you know how to use him.
also there is one basic concept about stopping the run(this can be used on offense for running as well):
man to man defense works better vs inside runs such as slams and dives.
zone defense works better vs counters and other misdirection plays.
the reason is that if sum1 runs a counter against man d, the defenders initial move is in the direction of the rbs first move, which means they would bite on the misdirection and it would be harder for them to make a play on the ball.
in zone d, the defenders first move is in the direction of their zone. if you run a 43 cover 3 with the lbs in the flats, no matter what they will initially move to the flats. if it is a counter to the left, the rolb wont bite inside, he will go to the flats.
hope this helps, feel free to correct me on anything or add on to this

maybe try the 46, w/e it takes to force them to throw without all-out blitzing.
With the colts you basically have to accept the fact you're gonna give up points. You gotta get points on the board early and hope they go into "catch-up" mode, and ditch the run.
