The best run defense

i'm new to this but am starting to play a lot, i play with the colts and my friends always run it up the middle, i know the colts aren't the best but overal any play suggestions. i usually pick a 46 defense and stay with 46 throught the game, gap press is good but is vulnerable to the pass, any suggestions

crash the d-line. Push the L bumper, then RIGHT STICK DOWN. That crashes the d tackles up the middle. When I play against people, I will absolutely kill them up the gut with runs if they don't know that feature.

Just make sure that you are in man coverage. Man coverage helps out in both the run and pass. It definitely helps out when people call the goalline and pitch it/run it to the outside.

i play 4-3under and manually shift the safties a little closer and a lil outside the line of scrimmage. And rightstick whereever they run. I dont know why but for some reason the way the formation is it stops the run exceptionally well. I dont give up big run totals.
