my run defense is great, but I'm like 32nd in pass defense.. how can I prevent teams from constantly landing those passes?

Pass defense is the most stick-intensive part of madden. The AI just isn't what it should be. So, my advice would be:
1.)Jump that snap to get more pressure with your front 3 or 4.
2.)Pass commit. As soon as you get the snap, right stick up to pass commit. It keeps people from biting on playaction, which some guys will do even on third and long to keep the safeties up in the box.
3.)Go to the practice screen and work on your sticks. I call 5 wide pass plays against me and work on clicking on really quick to either get INT's or swats.
4.)Don't forget the A button (swat.) On long plays, sometimes you might have a tendency to push the Y button to try and pick the pass. Pushing the A button gives you a much better chance to get that ball on the ground instead of in the other guy's hands.
5.) Mix up blitzes. Don't let the other guy get comfy for a minute. Also, mix between zone and man right before snap. Audible from one to the other, but make sure you give yourself just enough time to get everyone set. It seems like the O-line AI isn't as quick to pick up D linemen if you change the stunts pretty quick.

mix ur zones up constantly. make it next to impossible to figure out if u in zone or man. watch the players tendencies, look where he likes to throw on certain downs and watch the way he plays. Whatever he tends to do on certain downs make sure u got the right zone called. Confuse the **** out of him send a blitz where he wouldnt expect it. All about confusing the offense and forcing them to make a mistake. I would suggest on coming out in the beginning of games with cover 2 under and taking man lock off to begin wit because most online players try for that deep ball right away. The deep ball seems to be effective on just about every zone so if you take that away for a good 3 or 4 downs he wont be lookin for it and then hit em wit like a cover 3. Good stick skills do wonders also if u press up on the right analog stick everyone on the d seems to play better. The pass rushers get in more, zones are played more tightly, and people dont bite on play action.

yes, that swat button is almost more valuable than going for the int at some points in the game. My thing is that if it's one on one, I'm swatting....if it's 2 on 1 in my favor, but one of my defenders is a linebacker, I'm still swatting. I only go for the picks when it's low risk, high reward (example, I'm playing with my safety and the ball is thrown in my immediate area, or if i have a safety and corner running right alongside the receiver). It works for me and I average 2.7 INT's per game. My pass D in my franchise is ranked 8th, run D is 5th.

great tips dudes, thanks... So for Pass Commit, do you hit LEFT TRIGGER - RIGHT STICK UP? Or do you just hit the Right Stick Up? Damn... maybe that's why my pass commit sucks so bad, I'm regressing to last years controls!!!

not sure about that left trigger, all i do is hit right thumbstick up and it works. just make sure your not playing someone in coverage when you do because if you time it wrong then you will do the hit stick instead of the pass committ. i think you only have about a second, if not less, to hit the thumbstick when they hike. so be careful and let us know if any of this helped you out

I can't get this to work, or at least, I cannot see any evidence of it working. I push up on the right stick when the other team snaps the ball, right at that moment, and then even a few more times after - and I can't see where anything is happening. Are we talking 360 now?

make sure u just flick up on the stick dont hold it otherwise ur guy will hit stick and put him out of postion.
