Yr 4, I take Idaho 10-2, 7-1 in the WAC and are conf. champs. I beat notre dame (#10) mid-season. I was ranked #19 at the time of bowl selection Good year. not NC material, but decent bowl appearance... right?
Guess again... NO BOWL - season over!
Can someone explain? The only thing i can fathom is that I was on probation... but that said, the only penalty noted was losing 10 scholarships.

This kind of stuff used to happen a lot in previous versions of the game. I remember taking a crappy team to like a 9-2 season and expecting a bowl bid, not getting one, and then being pissed when I scrolled through the bowl teams and found several Big 10 and SEC teams who received bids despite finishing with LOSING records. I thought they had this fixed, but maybe not if it happened to you.
Once in a while, a team from a lesser conference will have a good season and not get a bid in real life, too. I remember Northern Illinois going like 10-1 a few years back and not getting a bid. It's all about how well the bowl reps think teams' fans will travel, as it goes back to the almighty dollar. The bowl reps figure a 6-5 Michigan State or Texas A&M team will bring more fans than 10-1 Northern Illinois. And while it's not fair, they're probably right about that. There was an article in SI about it.

Now exactly what game are you talking about (are you talking about one of the earlier games where they only had a few bowls in the game). Because the newer games have a ton of bowl games (at least '06 does I don't have '07 but I assume it does as well) and most everybody who finishes with about 7-8 victories will get in (even if you are from a no name conference).

You should have been invited to a bowl. There is such a proliference of bowls, # 19 should go. Maybe it was your probation. I cannot remember back when I had a Notre Dame dynasty and was on probation 3 or 4 years in a row whether I was invited to a bowl or not. Maybe some forum members could chime in on what has actually happened to them while on probation.

I think the game I was referring to was '06, and if that's what you're playing, that's your problem.
Oh, and JimOtto, I actually won the NC while on probation in '07. You guys ought to upgrade. I thought I was behind because of my refusal to get a ps3.

I just recently won 9 games in a season with a one star prestige team and did not receive a bowl bid on '06. Was pretty ticked about it too. I scanned the bowls, but none of the teams had a losing record though.

Here is where you are making almost too much sense for video game minds like ours.
I saw ps3 at CircuitCity and it is awesome. However, I am still having tons of fun with my ps2 and NCAA '07, so I am happy. And by the way VTHokie, you are right, my ND dynasty was on '06.
