While it was running i tilted the 360 a little and heard skidding marks for about a second before i turned the box off. I bring it out nd it has circular scratches and wont start up anymore, is my game screwed for life?

this happened to me once. There is a wax you can buy that will fix those scratches ... polish it let it dry and it will play again.

I can almost guarantee it's gonna happen again too...

I had the same thing happen with my PS2 a couple years back. It was one of the old, big ones with the tray that slides in and out. One day it chewed up my first copy of ESPN 2k5 (my favorite football game of all time....). I got another copy, and shortly thereafter, it scratched up that one too. I think the tray somehow got misaligned and pulled the disc in too low or something, I'm not sure. Anyway, watch out....it might happen again.
