i don't want a rookie at QB, SuPeRfLykId.
contrary to what most people think, i don't believe were that far from being able to win the whole shabang.
all that's missing is a decent offense, that's it, in my opinion.
i don't think we should wait on a rookie QB to develop.

that is just..... just.... just.....sooooo wrong on so many levels....lol. The Raiders have a fews years of rebuilding left befor ethey can even think about the plaoffs, let alone winning a championship. Remember who's in that division they are in & have to play twice each year - SD, Den & KC.

no, 2 wins, you guys are nowhere close.
the D overachieved as well. they aren't good vs the run, and while their pass D was very good last year, it's overrated due to the fact that teams don't need to pass against them all that often. running the ball worked, and because the offense turned it over so much, they would get good field position. i think you guys still have a good pass defense, but the defense is not as good overall as some think.
you still need a new OL, new QB, maybe a different RB, help at WR, and a DT who can stuff the run.

I would love to have Carr on the Raiders.
We don't need much to win, We were competing all last season and losing by just a few to most teams. How can the defense be overachieving when they were on the field all game long? The D is for real and is young, they will get better. Just need a QB who doesn't throw picks in the red zone and a line to block for him.
I dont want them to take a rookie qb either. Russel can go elsewhere, I dont even like him anyways. Screw him going at 1.

There's only one word for Raider fans that i can think of right now after reading some of the comments:
Denial

that's your opinion, nevada, and your entitled to it.
me, i think the defense and special teams are just fine and all we need is a decent offense to compete favorably with the teams in our division.

it's so easy to say the pass defense is overrated because teams didn't need to pass because they couldn't stop the run. the fact is that they were pretty good in yards per carry against the run, pat.
the best way to gauge a run defense is with average yards per carry, not total yards rushing.
like gtrght said, they were on the field all the time last year.

Yes, very good stuff. Had to watch all my DVD's after the pats loss to Indy. Couldn't help but think....that shoulda/woulda/coulda been the pats again.
He is human....I think....just doesn't want to be perceived that way in the media. Only his closest friends and team (behind closed doors) get to see what he is really like.
Sometimes little nuggets of his human side get out there like how he called Manning before the SB to wish him good luck. Or how he said F U right to the face of Tom jackson after Jackson claimed his team "hated" him after a season opening loss to Buffalo in which Milloy was let go right before the game.
Or I guess this story from court that says how much $$ he is dropping on this lady.
rank is dumb

All I can say is.. Long live the Bengals!! Once the Ravens die of old age I don't see the Bengals having any competition for years to come :D

I agree 100% with that one. Even though Calvin Johnson sounds nice, its not that we don't have good recievers. (Just see that seahawks game) Now I'm not gonna be a bold as Joe and say we're that close to a SB, but I will say we could very easily be a .500 team next year. Probably not playoffs since the afc is loaded, but a few teams have a bad year and we sneak in at 8-8 don't sound so bad (Then again, 2 wins does that to ya)

I think Joe is trying to say two things:
1) The Raiders have hit rock bottom, so next year when they win 3 (or get better somehow) he can say: "Told ya so!"
2) Profootballtalk.com (are they even real journalists?? LOL) is more believable than ESPN??

The raiders should try to trade down a couple spots and get Joe Thomas. Im sure cleveland or Tampa would love a shot at JaMarcus(what a horrible name)........
