I have reached the point where I am in pain 24 hours a day and its driving me crazy!! I have two degenerating discs in my back, Torn ligaments in my wrist, nerve damage in my left foot, sever scare tissue on the bottom of my right foot, some damage in the tissue around my left shouder and now my damn hip is starting to give me problems..

Do you think its possible to go insane form being in pain all the time?

Rank:

Chronic pain can have a definite impact on your mental state. I deal with all the time on many of the workers' comp cases I handle. I have seen a ton of psyche claims from people claiming that the chronic pain caused them to be depressed, anxious, etc. You might want to consider getting a consultation with a pain management specialist if the pain is truly impacting your quality of life.

Lets put it this way.. My whole day depends on how much pain I am in when I wake up.. Some days its really really bad.. Other days its just bad.. I am going to call OVR on Friday to talk with them.. As I have no insurance!

Nope I spent most of my youth in Cleveland and then moved to Pittsburgh..

I actually found my 20 year old DOG POUND MASK we made in school in 87. I just found it yesterday cleaning out some old stuff..

I'm a warm weather person.. When its 95º out side I'm happier then a tornado in a trailer park! :)

Cleveland did lost their team for a while.. Its hard to root for a team like Pittsburgh when you hated them for so long.. I tried but I could not do it.. Ill stick with my Ohio teams.. I guess alot of it has to do with people.. I hate Pittsburgh people.. They talk funny!!:D

I know.. Thats why I said if it was warmer. Trust me I am one of the few people in this country who would like to live elsewhere.. If you get my point!;)

Yo Rank,

I feel ya. Its hard to root for a team like Pittsburgh when you hated them for so longWhen the Rams moved here I just about lost it. It was great when the Cards left because we got to watch all the 1st line NFC games on TV because we were not in a NFC market but we had the Chiefs every Sunday.

Now I got the Rams! Thankyou DirectTV NFL Sunday Ticket.

Injuries are different, but moderate aging is just more time to develop bad habits
and it becomes easier to be unmotivated and use age as an excuse for not working
at developing good habits. ... In other words, suck it up and go outside - fatty!!! :p

Not directed at you Rank. Degenerating discs are no joke. My father is in his 60's
and he was a bodybuilder. He's 5'10 and he was about 190 pounds and he was hurting
daily. Since then, he's slimmed to 170 - and his back problems have nearly gone
away. He has two slipped discs.

Sounds like you need to change your name to lucky :D. Seriously though the older you get pains you never noticed in your youth magnify exponentially as you get older. I use to play a lot of basketball as a kid and would sprain an ankle and never miss a beat and keep playing. Now heck if I stub a toe I'm in pain for 2 weeks lol. You need to see a Dr before it goes much longer.

lol Its funny.. I worked all last years as a Caddie.. Walking/Jogging 5-10 miles a day.. I went from 218 to 207.. You would be amazed at how little I eat and how hard it is for me to lose weight even with exersize.. I think I'm around 210 right now..

I have a strong feeling it might be a degenerating Hip problem.. This happens with alot of golfers who walk all the time.. I used to play 5-7 rounds a week some times twice a day when I was young.. Thats probably the reasons I have back problems too.. I was having back problems when I was 16..

Sadbuttrue.. My post was AIF and I know yours was also.. Its all good!!! :D

Back problems are no joke... my stepdad is going in for back surgery this June and they are going to fuse his spine ... he is in severe pain all day and can hardly move... you know when the morphine isnt taking the edge off its BAD.

Me, I just have knee pain ...basketball injury, then surgery.... it hurts pretty much all day every day, but it's not bad enough to take pills over. Maybe when it gets ready to rain or its cold out it will swell up and hurt more... I've just gotten used to the level of pain. It sucks that as a kid I never appreciated just waking up with nothing hurting... I also hate the fear my knee puts in me to do stuff, like remember as a kid you would jump off a roof or out of a tree and it would be fine... even if you landed hard it would just make your feet tingle a bit, but now I start thinking will this break my hip ?
