Help Me Out! My defense is pathetic since Ive switch to 360!

I'm a safety and I'm going for the ball do I Swat or Bat? Do I hold button and run to position or get and tap button?

The swat is much better if you have to sprint to defend the pass. Use it every time if you're behind the defender or defending a slot route. Also, any single coverage you should use the A button unless you can get your guy into position to intercept a pass.

The Y button is much more effective when you add the L Trigger to it. It makes your defender slide and look at the QB. This allows you to intercept the pass and take it the other way. The Y button is useless when sprinting. If your in position let go of the sprint button and hit Y, this will allow your defender to gather himself for a higher jump. Otherwise, just hit that A button and knock the ball down.

playmaker is correct but you'll get more interceptions using the X button. A for swats which is what i do most of the time but when i'm in position i'll hit X for the cept! i haven't tried holding down the LT yet with conjunction of X but i will try that.

yeah, sprinting and pressing y could works only when the ball is badly thrown and you dont have to battle a WR for the ball, or when you are a safety over the top and you have to sprint down to intercept the ball before it hits the ground. However, when you are behind the WR or if you have to battle him for the ball, then pressing y while sprinting wont do anything, since your player wont jump for the ball. Sprinting while pressing A works well though, and is key to stopping those streak passes 1 on 1.
