Played this guy last night. Complete scrub.........level 20. Picks WVU (level 20 in a play now) so I went with GT expecting the worst. Things weren't so bad at first, he didn't really do anything bad defensively. I just happened to catch a bad break and was forced to punt. He gets the ball, and here comes the cheddar. He starts sprinting straight back. Not a HUGE problem, but I let it go for the first two possessions he had (of which he scored).

Ok, score is now 14-7 when he gets the ball. I decide to put an end to the scramble and chuck game and ended up going up I think 28-7 going into the half. At this point, things start getting really messed up. He says to me that I'm cheating and I explain to him that he is, pretty much saying if he stops I'll stop. Needless to say, he didn't, so I kept doing what I was doing to stop him. He pauses and says I'll be sorry.

I get the ball, and for the rest of the entire 2nd half guy jiggles the cord on me causing my connection to sputter. I mean on every single play. Now, I've run into this before, but after a few times, the game usually relizes what's going on and boots the guy causing the connection problems. Only this time, it didn't do so. Guy wins the game 35-28 all because I couldn't ever get anything going, very lame. Can't remember the guys' name, but he's the last person I played in my last 10.

Anybody know what he was doing? I was thinking he's probably got cable and a standby modem and was just pressing standby, but if my memory serves me correctly, when you do this your connection completely reboots. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's the only explanation I have.

he was pulling his ethernet cord in and out quickly causing it to lag like that.

I thought that if you did that though, the game would detect it? I figured he was either using some type of device to do it or had a standby modem.

That's weird then cause we tried to play with him being home and got the disco before kickoff. When I went to play now again, he was there. I looked at his bars and he was red with only one bar (usually indicating a poor connection). Should've known better though I guess.

There is a lag switch you can buy for $50 dollars. Alot of people was useing it on socom. You will behind a guy shooting him, then he will press the lag switch, guy would do a Houdini and disappear, then reappear behind you killing you then in the process teabag ya to rub it in. I don't if you can use it for NCAA.

Soccerbest was telling me about that about 2 years ago, but he said that when he tried it on NCAA, the connection dropped. Could be though.

It's so frustrating to play against cheesers like that. I mean, seriously, do people really get that much satisfaction in putting another number in their win column, no matter what it takes? On one of my old usernames, I had a ridiculous amount of losses caused by dropping out and I couldn't have cared less. My very little free time is way to important to play crappy games.

Yeah, it was only when I was on offense, and it didn't happen until the 2nd half. Had a perfect connection for the entire 1st half. After that though, connection would freeze up for about a half second every second of every snap. Dude even did it on punts and what not which made it damn near impossible.

Standby doesn't reboot your modem, atleast not mine. You can just press it, then unpress it after 3-6 secs and not get booted off. The standby button was the double win glitch in 06

Hey DJ,

Sorry you lost that to a scrub like that, did you keep the ball on the ground more often to run down clock? (may have helped)

I know that on PS2, you can lag that cord by jiggling it and doing that very fast because I always used to be a victim of "East" room gamers on 05' and 06', it always seemed as if I had a winning FG, the connection would just immediately drop and now I know why.

Some people are just SOOOOOOOOO low, it's a video game. I hate people that ruin the experience.

360 is different story though, you pull the cord from the back and you automatically lose ALL connection.
