wow...just played a guy tonight and he was the biggest cheeser in the world. basically wut he would do is go like a four reciever set and pretty much send a hail mary and whoever looked the most open he lobbed it to. when i finally could stop that he did the same thing but scrambled out of the pocket to pick up 10-15 yds. then i put my de's in the flats so he ran between the linemen because i didnt have any lbs in the ****in game cuz i had to double team his recievers.also any time i did hit that lil ***** leftwhich he wouldnt fumble the ball even though i hit sticked him good a couple times. very frustrating, could anyone give me advice on how to beat this peace of ****

First of all. I play out of the 3-4, with the NE playbook. It is a great playbook, I normally call the 3-4 under/even weak blitz 3. I pinched the line (then hot route them to fan), spread the backers and let them do their thing. That right there will bring so much pressure on the qb, its not funny. Plus if you play with a strong team. The pressure will force him to throw the ball earlier than he wants to. It's also good for containing scrambling qbs. That's all I am going to give you right now. Don't want to give up too much of my strat....

I tried this and the guy would get his qb out of the pocket and no one was there for a sack.

What team do you play with? Nothing is 100 percent. If you play with philly, you should be able to get Kearse after him. If he is purposely running out of the pocket, try the 3-4 formation that brings heat from the corner. Its hard sometimes because the system will not always react properly as designed, but this defense has always been a good defense to get pressure with..

Yes, I used the eagles. I would use 4-3 zone blitz flipped. Which is the same play on 3-4. He would roll to the right, where my pressure is and avoid everyone and hit the crosses route everytime. I tried everything. 3-3-5 corner blitz, zones, man under and all kinds of blitzes. He would just avoid everyone and hit the crossing route all the time.

Here is how I deal with scramblers....

VS. 4 or More Reciever Set:
Come out in a Dime Normal DE Contain, but switch the package to LB Pass Rush. This will help you especially if you have faster LBs than DEs by putting your OLBs as DEs. Since I use the Chargers that means I have Merriman (87 speed) and Foley (86 speed) as DEs.

Flip the play in the huddle, show blitz, and fan the line. This will trap the QB in a tight pocket. If you have good corners bump the recievers, but if not leave them normal or do delayed BNR. This is a Cover 1 DE Containment which means you'll have one safety to roam with while everyone else is in man. Play the safety and cover the deepest threat or just roam around the field. Many times this will distract your opponent from finding open recievers or evading the sack. If you have good corners who can cover their assignments you may even want to take the safety and chase the QB. Most safeties are as fast as Vick or faster so this will also make it difficult for him to make an accurate pass while on the run.

VS. 2 Back Set, 3WR Set, etc.
Do the same but out of the base Defense formation in case of a run.

I hope this helps

Another way to do is to run a heavy blitz from one side while running a containment from the other. Attack from his strong arm side. (right-handed, attack from the right and vice versa). Many times they'll end up running right into a defender. If you can get him to throw from the other side he will often make an inaccurate pass because he won't have to to stop, set, and pass.
