“(The vet will) compare DNA taken from the boy to kind of verify it happened,” Eggert said.

What? Do they think some OTHER dog assaulted the boy?? There was I witnesses no?

On a side note, any kid with soiled pampers will sometimes get a "reaction" from a dog.

yep, loyal pets... good protectors... family dogs... bad owners... good owners... bla...bla... bla...

anyone stupid enough to put one in the home deserves pretty much whatever happens as a result...

the sad part is that the kids dont and neither do the neighbors, neighbors pets and everyone else usually on the receiving end of the attack... usually the jaw though...

i hate to say it but the 2 year old might be better off in the long run than if the dog ripped his head/neck apart like the usual attacks...

Wow, just wow. Would this "attack" have made headlines if it WASN'T a pitbull? No. Who knows how many weird things happen with other dogs...it's just that pits, Rottie's, and other large dogs make the news.

i have a pit just over a year old, one of the smartest dogs i have owned, really submissive to people and other dogs.

Dont really see the point in the story being posted any other dog and i am sure it wouldnt have.

LoL! I just saw a story on the news about a boy who was attacked by a pitbull. Hmmm. I guess it's only because the owners were bad:rolleyes: . It probably had nothing to do with the pitbull's violent nature.

yea because those ones are reported, the others aren't. because the people, media give these dogs a bad reputation and image

most people get these dogs for the wrong reasons, to fight them. and they try to bring out the aggression by abussing them and the dog looses all trust by every1. it feels threatend so of coarse it's gonna attack.

Pitbull and Rottie attacks get tons more airtime than ANY other (pretty much) dog attacks (well, pretty much ANY big dog attack gets the news). It's not that it's uncommon for a dog to bite someone. The problem is when that dog is BIG. Little dogs bite people all the time, they just don't do much damage, and the attack doesn't get reported. However, I think if it was studied out, dog attacks are probably quite easily traced back to the owner. Maybe the owner was abusive...trying to get the dog to be a fighting dog. Maybe the owner didn't feed it. Or, perhaps the owner thought he was a good owner, took it to obedience school, all that stuff, but kept it chained up all the time, and never took it on long walks. That will store lots of pent up energy in a dog, and, when the dog finally gets off, will just be a crazy animal, as it tries to get rid of it's energy. It could bite someone, but not even be an aggressive animal, it's just crazy because the owner didn't give it an outlet to release it's energy. Bottom line, it's very rarely, IF EVER, the dog's fault completely.

lol, no, i never said 100% of these cases are all the owners fault.

but yes, most of the time it's the owners fault

lmao!
I completely see the argument against pitbulls when its a biting attack, but this is a little much to make a case against pitbulls for.

When has ANY dog ever sexually assaulted a human?
When has ANY animal ever sexually assaulted a human?

This story is so off the wall, to try to put it completely on a one breed of dog is hilarous.

Did anyone see that video of the Donkey trying to put his donkey d*ck in that fat dude, as the fat dude runs around the field?

So I guess all Pitbulls and Donkeys have these problems.
LMAO!

Bad donkeys, I hate them-- they're always trying to f*ck you in the ***.

well the website has a point and all articles are taken from local news just like the article which was posted in no1

i think the point is that only a select few household pets attempt to overpower their human owners or family and how many pets usually have the physical ability anyway

...sure its usually just killing/maiming/attempted throat-ripping-outs but... in all seriousness its 1 thing or another damn near once a week...

i dunno where you guys live.. but where i live there are literally pitbulls everywhere and the reason they get so much air time is the frequency of attacks.

some tigers dont maul their owners and end up being good pets too... however every single time 1 attacks a child it makes headlines because people are amazed that somebody was dumb enough to gamble on the safety of their loved ones...

donkey attack was hilarious and going with the same theme as the thread... donkeys are illegal as housepets in the city...

and it did get a lot of attention... more so than the small article in a small paper this attack recieved

hey resnor here is some airtime of a different breed attacking...dog attacks pitbull (http://cbs2chicago.com/topstories/local_story_113124809.html)

Pitbulls are generally what you would call an aggressive breed. On the other hand, Chinooks aren't. Now, give the same careless owner both breeds of dogs, and then tell me which one is more likely to attack? ... Is this making any sense?

EDIT:

these guys are pitbull homers we've been through this already.

Pittbulls that attack are a direct result of the owner not knowing how to handle them.

But yet, they still believe they aren't inherently more aggressive than another breed....

No they don't make sense.

Well not really. An agressive bread is more like a moldy peice of wheat toast, that is taking over your pantry by spreading its mold spores into the other food.

yea the pitbull will more likely attack because it can, why not.

ohh yea but when the dog attacks an abusssive owner it's the dogs fault right? .....

I have a Rott, but he is a house dog. My neighbor has a Lab and they leave him outside. He's bitten 3 people but it hasnt made the news or even a neighborhood protest. Yet, in a home association meeting, a neighbor had concern about my dog ????

Growing up, you see and hear about friends and classmates getting bit all the time, especially in the hood where no one "walks the dog", they just "let him out". but you NEVER heard about these attacks on the news.

Yeah, I have a Rotti also, and my wife and I were buying a house, and the community wouldn't let us cause of our Rotti. He's the nicest dog you'll ever meet, too.
