I just refied my house... I finally catch up with all of my bills.... and now my wife gets sick... with some rare form of strep throat and has to stay home from work for 10 days... thats 8 work days.. with no pay.... cause shes out of vacation and sick time.....

and my first mortgage payment for my refi is due sept 1st.... and I'm sooooooo sick of all of this.... everytime I take a step forward.. I get smacked back... Its f#cking rediculous. And I know whats gonna happen.. My son or daughter is gonna end up getting sick next... and I only hve 4 more sick days for the rest of the year.....

And I cant just get a second job cause even if I could find one in short notice I have nobody to watch my kids.....

Life sux.

Why's she always sick? Seems like you always say she's sick. Hypochondriac? How do you get strep throat?

I'm just saying, you always have that option. I've read some of your rants before and it doesn't sound like you are having a good time.

No idea where your wife works and what the policies are...but you might want her to check to see what the short term disability options are. Some companies it can kick in just over a weeks time. Others make you take vacation first....but might be worth looking in to. If she applies it might not be a total loss. Especially if the doctor says it is a bad case he might want her to stay out a little longer. Just a thought

Looking in to it.. but its a long term option.. short term disability takes FOREVER to pay... wont see anything for a month or so...

not much immediate help but somthing is somthing....

why doesnt your wife just suck it up and get her *** to work? honestly, if my wife's legs werent broken, she had run out of leave, and we really needed her income, i would be PISSED if she didnt get her *** to work (and if no kind of disability would help out). as an adult no one is just going to take care of you and sometimes you have to do things you dont want to. hell, if her legs were broken id find her a wheelchair. as an adult she has a responsibility to you, your kids, and herself to make sure she is holding up her end.

Cause her work told her not to come. They dont want her spreading it around... she was sent home... told to come back after the doctor clears her.

I'd be pretty pissed if a co worker came to work with not only strep, but some rare form of strep........when that ish gets bad it's no joke for real

*edit* i understand going in to work when you are actually sick isnt the best thing to do, but you gotta do what you gotta do to survive. you cant just sit around and let sh1t go unpaid if you are physically able to work. have her take antibiotics for a few days, get a little better, then send her back to work. 10 days is bullsh1t.

10 days is actually 8 working days + a weekend. If you can be homeless in 8 days... well... you got bigger problems then strep throat. I'd look into finding a financial advisor that can help you control and reform the way you deal with your money so this doesn't happen in the future... Right now it's 8 days, what happens when it's 6 months because she has some rare form of cancer... or you do ? I don't know about your wife's company but some have an EMT benefit pool... emergency medical time , it can be used for medical leaves when vacation time has been exhausted and begins usually after the third sick day off... Good Luck.

being someones wife doesnt change the fact that she is acting like a little kid rather than taking care of her business. its clear they dont have the means or savings for her to be able to be like oh boo hoo im not gonna work for 2 weeks even though ive already used up all my leave. she has a responsibility to mike and the kids to miss as little work as possible and to keep things financially smooth. anything she does to screw that up is her own dumb and irresponsible fault.

Yeah, but if the choice is to stay home and knock it out in ten days, or stay home two days then go back to work and chance infecting the entire office as well as worsening her current state of health ... is there really a problem choosing which is better to do for the long term ? Once you get that kind of illness in a work place it can linger and/or keep going around and around until not only the original infectant has had the same illness repeatedly but the whole office and their families ... and so on , and so on ... Right now I'd say the best option would be to call your lender and explain the situation and ask what sort of extensions might be avail , then make a solid plan to save at least enough to get through 6 months of payments if a true emergency happens to come along. This is sort of a spilled milk problem, you just want to prevent it from happening again in the future... and try to make sure the hole that is dug for you right now isn't as deep as it could be.

I dont think you get it...

she went into work... they sent her home told her to go to the dr... she went he "quarantined" her... she cant leave her bedroom. The Dr Stressed that its HIGHLY CONTAGOUS.. its not her fault at all.. and I would never ask her to defy a medical profesionals orders....

and as far as working with a financial person...

I was 10000 in debt from medical... I was Luckily able to refi and I am working with a financial person... right now though... we are in the middle of his second step.. this throws a monkey wrench into it... I was only allowd to take out enough to cover my debt.. the bank wouldn't let me take any more... so...

I'll be alright I suppose.. I was just venting....

Thanks for all the suggestions guys...

You guys really help me.. and honestly... I dont have alot of people to talk to so I really appreciate it. :D

PS: Fear.... she would love to go to work... she offered to work from home.. she offered to work in a back office... they said no... and what if she infected all of those people.. she would be responsible for that.... Its like if you have aids.. and knowingly transmit it... You are LEGALLY responsible..... She did nothing wrong.
