LOL... FF7 is the greatest of all time. You have dragon warrior on there as well... high on my list... have you played castlevania: symphony of the night? the game rules... if you havent played it pick it up on ebay or something. that game is unreal... it is evidence that platform games shouldnt necessarily go to 3d

man, I seriously struggle to remember some of the games .. there were just so many
after I made my post I was really thinking about it.
Madden 04 was it .. with Vick? Or was that 03? I can barely remember. But that game was pretty ill
I remember playing Phantasy Star 3 (I think) until my thumbs bled .. just trying to replay it and go in different directions because everytime you accomplished one thing, you had a choice on who to hook up with, accompany, or whatever
I used to copy down my own stats for Tony LaRusso Baseball for Genesis, play 162 game seasons, the works .. with the same rosters (using the Dodgers with Cokehead Strawberry lol)
I thought Echo the Dolphin was pretty bomb@ss and original, plus I see it's kickin around on one of those handheld games ya plug into your TV via RCA cables for $20, just keep forgetting to pick the ***** up
JJ, is Symphony of the Night for NES? hell I was playing a rom version of Tecmo Bowl with 2007 rosters last year on my laptop with a emulator so I imagine Castlevania is out there somewhere.
Bigred, I'm wondering if you said FF7 is GOAT to bust balls and say you're agreeing with me or do we really agree on something as well?!?!?!?!
seriously Final Fantasy 7 was a master piece. nothing else in the RPG world compares. none of it's sequels
like there was only one Tomb Raider -- the original. the 15,000 they came out with afterward .. forget it.

FF7 is GOAT no question, greatest game ever, I spent hours on that and never got bored. I never beat those 2 guys at the very end after Sephiroth. I've wanted to buy it again just to replay it and beat those guys...I probably will one day lol

Yes Live 98 was a great game. I think the 2k series on the PS2 is ok, Live has sucked since 99/2000 for the PS1 IMO.
Street 2, my favorite move as bouncing it off the defenders head for an alleyoop. As I always said when I did that to one of my friends

Here are the games I would put in my top 10, after 1, there is no particular order, as depending on my mood, that could change, but my top game is always the same
1. Chrono Trigger (SNES) The greatest game ever made. One of the few RPGs in which every character had a great back story and the soundtrack was awesome, as I have it on my MP3 player. The graphics at the time were top notch, and the story line was amazing. Also one of the first game to have branching paths and multiple endings.
The rest
Zelda: A Link to the Past-Probably the most fun Zelda game I have played. I lived the Light World/Dark World aspect
Goldeneye 64-The daddy of console FPS. One Christmas, my old roomates and myself decided to say "Eff Family" and frag the hell out of each other.
Halo 2-Best console online shooting game ever. I spent too many hours online and at LAN's playing this game.
Ninja Gaiden (X-Box) the reason I bought the system. Hard as hell, not something for the casual gamer, but not something that was cheesy hard, you know what mistakes you made and was punished accordingly.
Final Fantasy VII-Soundtrack that rivals Chrono Trigger. Awesome story. Not the end all be all of RPGs people have it out to be, but its importance to not only the RPG genre, but to video games as a whole
Final Fantasy X-Best Final Fantasy game ever. Awesome story line, maybe better than Chrono Trigger. Good soundtrack, only thing keeping this from the top spot was characters, while Auron, Tidus and Yuna were awesome, and Rikku and Wakka were fun to use, Lulu was meh and Kimahri was useless.
Bioshock-Not too much I can add to what has been said about this game. Amazing, the only game I think that could top it for game of the year is Mass Effect.
Castlevania: SotN- Metroid+Castlevania=greatness. While some of the later DS might be better overall, again, I give credit to the creation of the formula.
WCW/nWo Revenge/WWF Wrestlemania 2000-Best wrestling games ever. Some of the best times of my younger days were spent playing both of these games. Also these games were when I perfected the Aldogg Angry Controller Hulk Smash when I would lose. A lot of tempers would flare for these games.
In no order
Socom II (PS2) Probably best online experience with gamebattles clan wars I have ever had.
NFL 2K? (Dreamcast) Every single one 2k, 2k1, 2k2 on the dreamcast was awesome. Returning kicks with tim dwight was the most fun I have ever had in a video game.
Legend of the Dragoon (PS1) Probably the best RPG I have ever played
Goldeneye (N64) This was the game all my buddies use to sit around and play from 8pm till the early morning. Complex with the invisible walls man great game.
WWF No Mercy (N64) My favorite wrestling game of all time
Streets of Rage 1-3 (Sega) Best side scrolling fighter ever
Bomberman (Sega)
Mario Kart (N64)
Donkey Kong 64 (N64)
Dynasty Warriors (PS2) The whole series. So repetitive but so much fun.
Armored Core (PS1/2) Whole series
Other mentionable are Chromehounds and Tekken 3

Fo Freakin' Show, Brother...
Goldeneye- N64
Perfect Dark- N64
Paper Mario- N64 (one of the best games but mine had a glitch where i couldn't get through a door)
Mega Man the Wily Wars- Sega (sega channel exclusive, first 3 games all together)
Sonic The Hedgehog, mainly 2 and 3 with Knuckles
Socom 2- was on this game endlessly for a while
Madden games before the last 2 years, fun never ended for them
Gunstar Heroes- Sega
WWF No Mercy- N64, probably top 3 all time most played. me and my friend would create characters and play for hours straight
Mortal Kombat 3- Sega, probably beat it with every character, knew every combo and just loved this game
Street Fighter 2- SEGA, probably my first fighter
Twisted Metal- not sure which i liked the most, i think the 4th and Black for PS2
probably a lot more i can name. not many modern games compared to the days of playing tough games on sega and some of the N64 multiplayer games that were fun on sleepovers
how can i forget the Pokemon games?
practically consumed my life for so many years. had the potential to be the best game of all time if it took longer to get through, or if it was ever made onto a console. would get headaches from looking at the small screen for 10 hours a day lol.
Twisted Metal- not sure which i liked the most, i think the 4th and Black for PS2
Can't believe I left off twisted metal.
In no order at all.
Some Smackdown game on PS1, I can't remember. I think it was Shut your mouth or something like that. I would play my friend, and he'd have Kane (when he had that mask), and I'd have the Undertaker. Even though I lost,(CHOKESLAM FROM HELL EVERY TIME I PLAYED MY FRIEND) it was a cool game.
The first Tony Hawk game on PS1. I remmber doing all these different tricks, and be like, "Yo, that was bangin'" I'ts was like playing that new game from EA called skate. Every simple trick was a huge accomplishment to me.
NBA JAM on Sega Genesis. He's on fire baby!!!!!!!! My lil brother can do all those 360 dunks from like half court while the ball is on fire, and I'm just staring at the screen, like, "What the....."
The first SSX on GameCube. I played that game for hours when I got it.
Madden 2002 on GameCube. Rememeber the song that came on when you started the game up. It was like, "No matter what happens, the choice is on you, this is John Madden 2002!" My friends and I would be rapping that everyday when we was in school.
Madden 2004. First Madden I ever won a game on All-Madden difficulty on. I went mad bananas.

Yeah, I forgot MVP '06 and Ken Griffey Baseball (the first one). I have MVP '06 for the pc. I need to install it. There was nothing I didn't like about that game. Like someone else said, best franchise mode ever.

1. FF7, I think last year I re-bought it and beat it. I beat both ruby/emerald weapons which I haven't done before. X-summon+Knights of the round+mimic=long assssssssss wait.
Then out of order would be.
WWF Wrestlemania(n64)
Gears of war (360)
Joe Montana 94 (sega)
Deion Sanders prime time football (sega)
Punchout(nes)
Dragon Quest 8(ps2)
Final Fantasy X+X-2(ps2) Both games I spent alot of time on
Pokemon(gameboy) Yes I played this in like middle school alot lol
Twisted Metal 2(ps1) 1 was ok but 2 was clearly the best then it went downhill after another company bought it. I still remember blowing up the effiel tower and riding that ramp
God Of War 1+2(ps2)
NBA Jam(sega) Shawn Kemp breaking the backboard
Resident Evil 1(ps1)
Resident Evil 4(ps2)
Resident Evil 1 has to be the best game. So long ago yet I remember the whole game like I just played it. Jill>Chris you start with the gun and extra slots. The horrible voice acting, WESSSSSSSKERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR and they just had an interview and article in the gameinformer 2 months ago.
I used to also think the girl who played Jill in the game was hot when it showed clips of her before and after the game

LMAO at all of you gushing over FF7. It was good, but not great by any means. The biggest reason it's so adored is because it gave the video game world one of the best villains ever. The game itself pales in comparison to greater RPGs though, Chrono Trigger and FF6 easily beating it.
Final Fantasy 6 - The greatest RPG ever, period. 14 great characters who were all useful and well fleshed out. Top-notch gameplay and a story that rivals the greatest novels in history. Nothing describe how you feel when the world breaks apart and you realize what you thought was the end of the game is really just the beginning. The last truly open-world, open-ended Final Fantasy game made, all its successors were sadly and painfully linear.
Chrono Trigger - A very close second. The story here goes stride for stride with FF6, perhaps even beats it in the long run, but it falls flat with characters. Chrono, Marle, Lucca, and Frog were great, but Robo and Ayla were just blah and Magus was only an afterthought sadly. The game was definitely groundbreaking though and many of us will carry fond memories of it with us. Too bad Chrono Cross couldn't capture it's parents magic.
Indigo Prophecy - There is nothing on the market like Indigo Prophecy. It was so groundbreaking and revolutionary that it was indeed ahead of its time. Most consumers passed it by, not knowing they were missing a fantastic mystery and gaming experience.
THQ's Early WCW/WWE Wrestling Games - Revenge, World Tour, WrestleMania 2000, No Mercy; these were the greatest wrestling games EVER made. They were fun and control was intuitive. No game today will ever touch these.

Ocarina Of Time and Final Fantasy VII are A1 and A2 due in large part to them being ground breaking in the sense it had never been done before in that way. Two of the most immersive games that caused time to evaporate that I have not seen duplicated in that fashion since.
A close second for me would be Metroid Prime which also had total in game immersion that would cause you to lose entire blocks of time in just a matter of what seemed seconds lol.
