I just put the finishing touches on and loaded everything up. This guide is a bit more schemes based than our 4-3 & 46 Blitz guide which were just straight up blitz packages.
LB is a real defensive guru so you will learn alot about the game of football as well as get some nasty defensive schemes from the guide.
Oh yeah...it is also packed with heat!!

I know this was written for NG, but can any of the schemes covered in this book be applied to CG?

The only thing I was able to get on CG was outside blitz. The randomness of the inside blitz takes away from some of the schemes.

quick question, just got the guide and wondering when you are describing the players positions ie ROLB/LOLB , RE/LE.. is that how you see it on the screen, or the actual players positions? i know sometimes when you say ROLB that might mean to some, the OLB on the right of the screen. SOrry had to ask, before i start jumping into it =)

I think by "RDE" or "ROLB" he means the actual position, so the DE or LB on the left side of your screen.
Good stuff in here.. LBzrule is easily the best writer you guys have.

Well, it is certainly more worthy of a sticky than "Madden and Hip Hop"

Any team that has good speed at linebacker can run the 3-4. I run the 3-4 with the Lions and have had a lot of success.

Pats, Ravens, Chargers, Lions, Cowboys, Steelers, 49ers, Packers, Jets,. These are teams I have used with it. Primarily you want speed at linebacker. The Cowboys probably have the best unit of linebackers in the game. They are deep as far as depth and you can make some subs and your slowest linebacker will be 82 speed.

Yeah, and you also have a monster at NT with Rogers.
I run the Niners and use the 34. The Niners have the fastest MLB (tied) as well as the fastest OLB in the game.

I wouldn't say you would waste your money because your gaining a bit of someone eles knowledge......but it is for NG the nanonanus won't work on CG so sorry. But man I learned more in ten minutes of reading about the 3-4 then I had all year!!!:D

Thanks for that. Anyone know how these 3-4 schemes work on CG as far as stopping the run. I just fear getting gashed by HB slams in the 3-4.

He is one on of the better writers on here I was just hoping to gain some knowledge that I would be able to apply to my game until i can get ng!

Compared to last years 3-4 guide, what extra has been covered?
I bit and bought both the ncaa and madden 08 guides this year and was kinda disapppointed. I didn't ask for my money back cause I'm not like that, but I felt the madden 08 guide was rushed and didn't offer a whole lot in addition to last year. Almost like the Madden game itself, a new year with just a few new things.
I role with the steelers in 3-4, but I can't believe that this guide will offer anymore than it did last year which it was great I have to admit, but to throw down another $24 for a couple of blitzes???

Sorry I did not have last years guide so I can't really distinguish between the two. Although this not only has blitzes but also different concepts to play against the run and pass out of different formations that really help someone like myself who is a little new to the game.

well, i just got done going through about half the book so far, and i must say its worth every penny imo. This is a must have for any 3-4 user. So much info on play setups, and schemes. Almost everything ive tried thus far works as described. I got last years NE 3-4 guide which was nice as well, and combined with this years theres ALOT you can do out of this playbook. Look forward to grinding through the rest of it this week =)

Just try doing them over and over in the lab.....also practicing cycling through players with the Lstick by holding B then moving over one at a time......as supposed to tapping B 12 times passing your desired LB lol!! And try starting your set ups coming out of the huddle...are you trying this in practice mode?

Are Line shifts from the defensive side or looking at the screen, for instance if you say "Shift Linebackers Right" do you Press down LB Button(360) and move the directional Pad left, which would make them move right from the defensive side....Does that Make sence..Just like The E-Book Playbook Section on "Defensive and Global Adjustments" Says to do..Just wanna be clear..
Thanks Blitz716

For the shifting it is based on the screen. So if it says shift backers right, is RB then right.

Do you go over stopping some of the main offenses we see? RunGun, Strafe catching, Cross Punch?
Also, this has a lot of schemes right? Not just plays?
Thanks man

I got to say the guide is serious, although I bought it for CG. The concept was easy to incorporate into CG for me. And I bet a lot of guys wanted to now if it can be done the answer is yes, you can do it. I love pressure and this (D playbook) is pure pressure. And I roll with BMORE. PS I use the Nickel 2-4-5 more than any thing now, real good scheme. When I switch over to NG i'll be rolling with this book as well. Unknown baller from DC/MD
