I've been considering switching to the XBox and getting Live, but my significant other isn't too thrilled with the prospect of spending that kind of dough on video games.;)

I bet yours is like mine in the respect that if it were for clothes...or shoes...or some kind of dust collector they would be all for it ;)

But it's okay for them to blow a wad of dough on anything they think is a neccessity (shoes, purse to match shoes, new outfit to match shoes and purse, wallet to match purse that matches the shoes that matches the new outfit. Appointment at the beauty parlor to get hair done to look nice in new outfit that matches the shoes that matches the wallet that matches the purse) ?!?!?

Absolutly correct Bert....although I already have the sub for NCAA 2004 filmroom.....but you can bet when it expires...I will be in the filmroom everyday with 2005...

By the By....just won a wireless adapter for the Xbox....and missed the XBox starter set by a penny. LOL

one out of two ain't bad.....got the adapter for $81....not a bad deal.

Whats the difference between the X box and PS2?

hobbs2324

faster processor, bigger hard drive, better video, no need for memory cards.
Other than that nothing much
:D

Smaller game base, smaller fan base, a controller that can be a real bear to get used to, paying to play online with most games.

Not much indeed.

Ouch, those are some good points I hadn't considered.

Go wait for PS 3 to come out, and while you're at it why don't you get frustrated with everyone glitching you to death and pulling.
Keep an open mind Pinolian, your platform is obsolete and will be replaced within the year

What's the name of the adapter that allows you to use a PS2 controller on the XBox?

hey i still own a PS2 also. but I have live and I have had good experiances on live with all types of games including ESPN football last year. I have never played PS2 online but I used to read the horror stories on the ESPN videogames boards about lag and glitchers etc. PS2 is still an ok system just I have not played it much since I got a XBOX.

PS2:

Pros: #1 selling console world wide.
Huge online fan base.
Large Library of games.
40 gig HDD, largest HDD in the market.

Cons: Online arena suffers occasionally.
Large amounts of cheating in said arenas.
General lack of support for online games.
Online issuses are not addressed in a timely manner.
No support for HDD.

X-Box:

Pros: #2 selling console.
Built in 8 gig HDD.
Top notch graphics engine.
The only system you can play Halo & Halo 2 on. :D
A system I have owned since it's release. :D
Full online player support.
One screen name for each and every online game you play.
Included headset ( When you purchase Live Kit ) for online play.
More online titles than any other system.
One yearly price to play online games.
More choices for paying for online services.

Cons: 1st production run systems suffered problems.
Paying for online play service.
No way to play PS2 people online in the same games.
Making Halo 2 THE reason to buy an X-Box come 11-9-04.

Having to pay to play for online gaming does suck, but Microsoft and thier product support team has made paying for Live seem like the customer is the one getting over. One gamer tag for each and every title that is Live enabled. Quick support for online issues. Cheaters/glitchers are dealt with swiftly and severly. Updates are made available quite often, giving players even more of a reason to keep playing their old titles.

Don't get me wrong, I have a PS2 and love my PS2 as much as the next man. But X-Box just seems to have their stuff together for online play.
