Came Across 2 Bugs In NCAA Demo

Just played a game using VT vs Alabama. Game was tied at 28-28. With 38 seconds left in the game, I completed a 48 yd pass to the Bama 36. the play took a little time because it was a 10 yd pass and I YAC'd it for the other 38. I had no timeouts so I hurry up, get into a Shotgun to go for a TD on final play. The clock started ticking (the usual clock stop happened after a first down, and then it starts after the ball is set at LOS), it got down to 6 seconds and Bama called a timeout. Ok, cool, I'll check out the playbook for another play. Line up and Bama calls another timeout.

First bug - a team can't call back to back timeouts without a play being run.
Second bug - I think the CPU was trying to ice my kicker on a game winning FG even though i did not have the kick team on the field.

I got the TD btw... lol...

Shoe string tackle?

Is there a trick to pulling this off? I get hit for a loss a lot with it when I try to get space from a defender running towards the side line, but I can't seem to get the animation when I try to assist tackle or dive tackle in similar situations on defense? Any suggestions?

The Philadelphia Eagles have moved on from Andy Reid who takes his "Virgin Gaming" winning playbook to Kansas City and replaces him with Chip Kelly who used to light up the scoreboard as a college coach in Oregon. Kelly plays with a fast paced style that would make even the New England Patriots high speed attack jealous.

Kelly is known for a spread option scheme that is much more reliant on the run game that most spread schemes. He would have great athletes who could get to the edge.

Whats good guys. We are back with our first ever ncaa tip and today we are taking a look at a way to get 2 blitzers free while only sending 6 hopefuly this will help you if you are having trouble sending pressure also guys it seems as if a gap blitzes from last year are not going to be effective this year so i will get back in the lab and see if i can find something and lastly the 43 under defense is not as effective bc of the new lineman awareness makes the center pick up some of our madden 13 blitzes a little better so hopefully we can adjust. Till next time guys hope you enjoy this concept and can apply it to your game. One last thing be sure to take a look at the alabama defensive book as it has a unique cover 3 sink play in their 1 of their 34 sets sand i believe it will be one of the most used plays in ncaa 14. Early impressions of NCAA (Demo)

ill add and take away as i play the demo more, thus far though (on Heisman settings)

my likes:

Audible system..very easy to navigate specially in no huddle... awesome job here

user catching... seems spot on, smooth to execute

Gameplay in general seems smoother, more polished

running back cut moves is a plus

my dislikes or indifferent:

Speed Burst...eh, may take little more getting use to

route manipulation is still in the game...

unbumpables still there..

Graphics.. really unchanged at all, which is fine i guess, but was expecting a little improvement..Glad they didnt sacrifice gameplay for graphics so cant ***** really

After playing a round in Tiger Woods PGA, a panel appeared saying the NCAA 14 Demo is available now but I went into the PS Store and it wasn't there. We may see it later today but most likely tomorrow since tuesdays are usually store update days. Guys on the Xbox may want to check on their end.

Well, I've got a lot of catching up to do. It's been about 4 months now since I posted anything or followed Madden. My wife and I welcomed our first child into the world back in April, it's been very busy since. No time to blog or post, just work and taking care of the family.

I hope to post more in the coming months and join the conversations again. It's amazing how much a baby can change things, in a good way. It's fun, exciting and tiring, but totally worth it.

Lot of hype right now about M25 offensive playbooks, but you know what

I think for me it's going to be about defense. Specifically finding quick set ups to bring the most consistent pressure. I know Madden is an offensive game but it is getting harder and harder make defensive adjustments within the allotted 7 seconds.

These forums always have a ton of great offensive schemes on here so I'm not too worried. Besides right now I'm into the Bill Walsh legends playbook, and you know what. It's nice to run a simple effective playbook. Just my 2 cents.

**This post is not meant as a be all end all discussion on using PA plays.**
All throughout Madden 13 a majority of people have complained that Play Action passes do not work in madden. In the past I would have agreed but with the ability to cancel PA after the snap I'm more inclined to disagree. I think peoples expectations of PA are wrong not necessarily the PA plays themselves. So I am going to list common reasons why PA plays "fail" and a potential solution.

Nobody is open after the PA, so you either throw a INT or take a sack. PA is typically used to fool/ move a particular defender either safety or linebacker. IMO for Madden its the user defender, they need to believe a run is actually coming.

1) Make sure the fake action actually matches one for a run play that you actually use (Some formations have multiple PA plays for the same run just check the PA in practice mode). Too many times players run the ball one way but on the PA fake the run is faked to the opposite side of the field. If you find a PA that you think will work make sure you have a run play you will actually use and lab both to make sure the first few seconds of each play looks exactly the same.

2) Make sure the call makes sense. Pay attention to your habits on offense and call the PA in a situation where normally you would run the ball. If your favorite run call is Power O then your play fake should match that. If your opponent users a safety your PA goal should be to get a player behind the safety. Lastly make sure your PA purpose is to pull the defense where you want it (EX: don't call PA Comeback Slide from I-Formation against an aggressive FS and expect to hit the TE crossing the middle, since the FS in theory should be trying to cut off a stretch run to the right and would be in position to make a play on the ball.)

3) Pay attention to your opponents habits if they keep tackling you in the backfield with a user safety then try to take advantage of their aggressiveness.

The play action was successful however you were sacked before you could attempt the throw.

1) Make sure your PA has enough blockers to give you time. If you plan on going deep focus on PA plays that have a TE and RB blocking. If throwing short a blue route might work instead (Blocking the TE while running PA might help sell the run even more)

2) Read the defense post snap and make use of your time. By the time the PA animation is over you should know exactly where you want to go with the ball. If its not there throw it out of bounds or run with the QB.

3) Have a hot read. If the defense rushes more than you can block cancel the play fake by hitting RT (xbox) and throw to the receiver in the vacated area.
