Oh..ok. Yea I see what your saying.
Nah u didnt read anything wrong.EA claims it has no effect whatsoever an im sayin thats wrong. But in general its unpredictable an different gaps open an close when u slide to the same direction back to back on the same run.So sp on runs does do something its just not helpful onna consistent enuff basis to matter.
and your welcome with the feedback. anytime bro.
Oh ok, well thats whats up. If slide protection really works...then i'd run it. I've never used it for the run though. Maybe I read somethin' wrong when I read the statement. But at the end of the day...if it works....I'd use it. :-)
About slide protection.I have seen ea say that about ncaa as well as madden that it doesnt work but it does.Im not a expert grant u but i toyed with it an when u for instance slide the line left onna stretch going right you'll get blown up everytime even against a light box.Than on the flip side ive sp toward the run an the defenders seemed to slide off the lead blocks easier.Basically the only sp that seems to work is the aggressive blocking. When i see a LB sitting right in a gap i wanna run through i'll use it with moderate success.
Wow thanx for the text book of info man lol.About the patch it improved d a good bit an it seems like defenders peel off blocks faster than b4.But i think most of what u said will hold up anyway.I think my problem may very well be running into a 8-man front.Alot of ppl seem to do it every play so i get undisciplined an try to force the run when i shouldnt.
Last but not least, if your running game isn't working...you may want to switch philosophies. Instead of running to set up the pass....try passing to set up the run. Come out WINGING the ball all over the place and running it every other first down. If your not good at just winging it around....throw high percentage pass plays that can substitute for runs (Hb screens/ Dual slants/ Drags). Your opponent will start to defend the pass by sitting in coverage...and then you can murder them with the run. Sorry for the long read...I type really fast...I'll just leave it at that though.
Page 8-->Also, remember, if you pick up 4 yards a carry....thats a good thing. You don't have to pick up 10 yards at minimum on every carry to have a running game. Most offenses are very satisfied with a 4 yard per carry running back. The key to most running games is to get 4 yards on 1st down, to keep the defense honest, to force the defense to have to worry about the run and the pass, and for the defense to bite on playaction as the game carries on along with a whole bunch of other things the running game does. Getting 4 yards a carry will get you manageable downs to work with like 2nd and 6 and 3rd and 5's instead of 3rd and 10's and 3rd and 9's.
PAGE 7--->So in conclusion...if you didn't want to read all of my mumbo jumbo(lol)... Use Long Hitters(Misdirection, Stretch runs, and Draws) against Zone defenses for Great Success. Use Quick Hitters(A gap runs and some B gap runs with pulling guards) against Blitz and Man to man for Great success. Use Middle Hitters(Power 0 and most counter runs) against either for Moderate success against all different defenses. The middle hitters are really like the neutralizers if you can't get a feel for what defense he is in presnap.
Page 6--->When the defense is in MAN to Man defense, they wait for a split second and then flow to the ball carrier regardless of how long it takes to be handed off. During LONG hitters, they actually flow to the ball before the ball is handed off. Thats why STRETCH RUNS, MISDIRECTION RUNS, AND DRAWS are NOT good against man to man defenses or most blitz pressures.
