VG-360 Franchise League - Team: New York Giants -GT:BookerT316
One of my favoite times of year for being a beer drinker!!!
Things I've tasted recently:
Troeg's Nugget Nectar - WHOA. This is good. After getting two bottles to go from our favorite restaruant, we HAD to get more. I went out the next day and bought a case before they ran out of this small-batch annual release. It's an imperial amber, hoppy, and delicious. Probably one of my top 5 favorite beers, ever.
Brooklyn Black Ops - Only 900 or so cases of this were made (750ml bottles, 12 per case). We were lucky enough to stumble across 2 bottles at $XX a piece. Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels. Drank one bottle with friends, and enjoyed it quite a bit. An excellent beer, no doubt... but may not be worth the price tag right now. This beer will age very, very, very well. Got the other bottle in the "cellar." We'll either drink it in a couple years or give it as a wedding gift this fall. Odds are we'll drink it in a couple years. The most expensive beer I've ever had.
Bell's Hopslam - Probably impossible to find now, but if you can DO IT. I liked Nugget Nectar a tad more, but this is still one stellar brew. Super hoppy, brewed with honey, tasty tasty stuff. If you do find this sitting around, drink it now! It won't hold up to aging at all, and the hop profile probably begins to deteriorate within weeks of bottling. With this one, fresher is better.
Sierra Nevada Torpedo - Another hoppy delight. As good as SN's Pale Ale, if not better. When I'm in the mood for a hoppy session beer, this one's going to be at the top of the list.

HA! That's a PA beer drinker's staple. The ol Troeg's eh? Not for everybody. I can get that whenever up here in Philly.
Very hoppy.
Have you ever had, Victory Hop Devil or Victory Prima Pilsner? The prima is a great spring summer beer and the hop devil, is exactly what it sounds like![]()

Concussion!!!
You can get Nugget Nectar whenever? Or only when it's in season? When I run out, I may be driving your way.In the winter months we love us some Mad Elf.
Actually, we're trying to tour the Troeg's brewery sometime this spring...
I've had Hop Devil and Prima Pilsner (been a while since I've had this though)... both very good brews. I like Hop Devil quite a bit... I'ma hop head.
In a week a local place is getting casks of Hopslam, Nugget Nectar, Ruination (Stone's Double IPA), and a couple other non-hop brews. I'm excited.

Well put it this way.. the 1st time I had ever heard of it being released for a particular season was when you posted that just now.
I see cases of that all year round. I'll verify with my beer dude though. We can only get cases in PA.
When is the season for Nugget Nectar that you're referring to?
Edit: Just spoke with a friend and it is a spring to early summer beer. Troeg's summer brew is the sunshine pilsner.
I guess I never noticed it being gone. Which is baffling me, because I could've sworn Ive seen it.

Nugget Nectar is a spring seasonal. The opportunity to get it down here is very limited. Most places are out now.

Website says Feb. only.
I dunno if I'd buy it in the summer months, I don't know how well it would age. Don't get me wrong, I'd try it, but I don't think I'd let it sit around for a year.![]()
