Rasmussen Russian Imperial Stout and Trappiste Rochefort Numero 8...

That stout is so damn boozy that I'm about to be TKO'd in 3...2...1....

The Trappiste was alright, but I far prefer #10.

New Holland's Dragon's Milk tonight, which I'll admit is probably the booziest/strongest beer I've ever had. Once you get past the "milk" part of the stout, you'll learn to appreciate it. Also yesterday, had some Moose Drool and it just didn't have that same luster it used too...also tried some Boulevard Dark Stout (unique to Kansas City) and I didn't think it was bad at all. Anyone else had Boulevard? They are pretty common in STL and KC, just wondering if they distribute out West?

Thinking about perhaps making my own stuff. Not to gain prominence or anything, I was just assuming that it'd probably be a lot cheaper...I'm putting out a good $40/week on this stuff, I need to get more economic. I've been treating this stuff like a luxury good...lol.

Can't wait for the Fall seasonals to come out...Summer is definitely my least favorite. Schlafly's (common to the STL) come out with a pumpkin ale that is just absolutely phenomenal.

I highly recommend making your own beer... However, don't do it just to save money. At best, it's a wash. Economy of scale.

Our beer club is making it's own beer. We recently picked up the brewer who's beer was brewed by Troegs as their scratch beer his Triple Mango IPA (troegs brewed a huge batch for him)

Our 3rd brew (but first with him) will be ready, bottled, and labeled for tomorrow's meeting. I'll report back.

I think it was a clone similar to SN Celebration

New Holland Night Tripper Imperial Stout...holy f***ing isht! Booziest damn beer I've ever had. Take one sip and you'll feel like you've just taken a shot of crappy vodka. But I'll tell you what, you get to used to it after a few swigs and this stuff is golden. These stouts I've been having lately are amazing. I've tried going back to the mountains of Busch...but it's hard, there are a LOT of quality brews out there.

Also went for some Rogue Dead Guy tonight, which seems to be a lot better than the time I tried it in Florida. Really, it sort of tastes like a Blue Moon without the orange. Anyone know when the fall seasonals come out? I'm pretty sure I'll turn into a straight up alcoholic at that point, but who cares....

Word of advice...Schlafly's Pumpkin Ale (for the fall)...you won't regret it.

Got in a debate with a coworker about crafts.

He claims they are a fad. Claims they don't taste good.

I argued I drink them over water beers for the taste. Miller Lite doesn't have any taste, Southern Tier Choklat does.

    What say you?

Lately, I've been a freaking lunatic in terms of my drinking intake.

I'm strictly on a diet of Schlafly Pumpkin Ale, about every other day. Such a damn fine brew.

I will throw this one out...the best pumpkin ale out there is the Southern Tier Pumking. Has vanilla notes in it and goes down oh soooooooooo smooth. Will be hard to find, but if you can get a bottle you WILL NOT regret it. By far, the best beer I've had this fall.

Tell your coworker to go drink some horse p1ss and then try some Southern Tier...the analogy is comparable. He hasn't had enough craft/or beer in general to make an informed opinion.

Anyone ever heard of Deschutes Brewery? Right now, I'm trying their Black Butte Porter and it's probably the 2nd best porter I've ever had besides Founders. Very rich chocolate aftertaste going down.
