Thumbs up Giving props for my defensive Prowess!!! Thanks!

To Mad Bomber, TrojanNole, and a number of others out there who have contributed to this forum... I say thanks. I have been visiting this forum for the last two years... coming here to find tricks and tips to learn how to completely MANHANDLE my friends at NCAA and MADDEN... now... I jump on X-box Live... and learned that I am nothing... compared to those who are learned and have studied the games... So this year I upped the committment. I got the filmroom... started studying and practicing like a madman... I read the forums till my bloodshot eyes burned in pain... and I must say that I have not achieved much... but last night... I was tested... and I came through the fire white hot... I was so excited it was hard to sleep...

I was down in the ranks early... round 15000 or so... then after playing some... I started a mad winning streak... mainly because of my defense... I am not saying that no-one can beat me... far from that... I had a guy ranked 308 SCHOOL me with ohio early on... then last night... I got a chance to play two people in the 200's ... the first guy I beat 17 - 12 He was LSU and I was FSU i believe... then the last guy I proceded to pester... and keep him scoreless the second half to win 14 -12.. I was UGA and he was SCU on his turf...

Needless to say... I owe it all to you football junkies who have made my football gaming pastime into a PASSION! Thanks for all your easy to read instructions, hints, tips, diagrams, and dedication!

You are all gentlemen and scholars!

I Dedicate all this to DEFENSE!!!
may all you Hail-Mary / Long - ball junkies forever be burned... we all know who are the REAL men.... and in the long haul... The true tactitians will overcome and will dominate..

thanks for letting me rant... and thanks again for the help....

Sorry if this is the wrong place for this... but you guys gotta hear the love!!!!
You're all doing a FANTASTIC job! Keep this Forum rocking with all the muscle crunching, tendon tearing, jock strap juking, pinpoint passing, Blinding fast blitzing, ... awe hell you guys get the point

    PEACE!

Hey thanks for the support. Speaking of the 3-3-5 Stack, It's very tough to move the ball against that defense if you know how to run it. I played LSU earlier today and after awhile I notice he started to switch to my defense. . I love bringing the two strong safeties manually off the edge with the speed burst. I nailed his running back behind the line of scrimmage a few times. The few rushing yards he got was because I was dropping eight into coverage.

WOW, no one ever thanked me from learning from me. But, its Bomber and FLAPRIDE that taught me. I just passed on what they instilled in me..sportmanship and real knowledge of the game.

But, serious way to go and keep us proud!

I have to add to the props to madbomber, Flapride, Bert, and even TrojanNole...

I have steadily gotten better and more competitive online and against the CPU....I actually have a middle passing game....and my stats are improving. I played a bomb specialist last night....and ended up winning 42-32. I had 3 rushing TD's!....I find I am reading defenses better and making better play calls. I owe all of that to you guys and the virtual filmroom. Best $20 I have spent all year! My defense is better...and I can actually feel confident when I enter a game and I find out I'm playing a cheeser....I KNOW if I'm patient...and stick with my gameplan...I can win....more times than I will lose. I think the BIGGEST reason I can win a cheese game is, I have learned how to utilize the Big Hit and the User Pick.....Yea...I miss some and get burned....but if I hit his WR's enough it can make a difference. I played a guy this morning that was a cheeser....USC with Mike Williams. He bombed me into oblivion....and the game was essentially over at the half....but I concentrated on his recievers....and I big hit Mike several more times and put his butt out of the game. I then started concentrating on bringing the heat to the QB....I knocked the QB out of the game in the 4th quarter. I refused to cheese bomb...and ended up down by 12 late in the 4th and just couldn't put the rock in the endzone....but I scared the cheeser....and he told me he wouldn't play me again...cause I CHEATED when I Big Hit his boy Mike so many times. LOL

Thanks guys....I owe it all to ya'll.....and I look forward to getting the same help and support when Madden comes out.

That was just too hilarious. LOL But what's even more funnier, is the fact the other guy was serious.

    That isn't cheating Volunteer....

cheating is what just happened to me....online. His nick was goodguys420 and all he did was throw bombs....hurry up offenses....throwing deep on every play....

I just finished playing 5 different players....all top 1000 players....and EVERYONE of them was nothing but cheese artists....I lost every game....and reported the cheating....but who cares?? Online cheesers are ruining the game. Sometimes I can deal with it....it is a challange to just hurt their players....and put them out of the game. But tonight...I have insomnia...and I'm in no mood for a bunch of adolescent, non football playing punks. So I'm here instead of online playing....what a shame...

I've got to say, I haven't been having all that many problems defending the deep ball of late. I play patiently, stick to cover 3s and 4s with the odd cover 2 mixed in and always drop my secondary. I almost always have two defenders in position to make a play. I've played two games against guys who didn't throw a pass under thirty yards, and I think they went about a combined 9-70 on me for a total of under 400 yards. Considering that was their only offense, I'll take it. The second guy also liked to go four or five wide and then run with Fla State, which was getting good yardage on me in the first half. In the second half I switched to some 4-2-5 zone bliting, straight out of the filmroom, and that was the end of his offense.

So he goes 5-30 with 2 TDs and I go 18-21 for 235 and 3 TDs and he gets upset because I'm getting "cheap" touchdowns. Hysterical.

    LMAO!!!

I love playing agaist those kinds of people. They think that what they do is all good, but when you shut them down and start scoring, they can't even give you props for making the better adjustments.

I played some clown, named "eghty9chevy" or something close to that...........He was FSU, I was UGA, he ran no huddle all game, PLayaction pass 85% of the time, yet he never ran the ball, i sacked him like 12 times but he still got some bombs here and there.......He ran Special teams all out blitz on the goalline, he put a running back at QB, a few times...........He was a joy to play........

Next year EA should make it like this, If you don't run the ball and you use playaction you should be sacked everytime, with no one open.

Yes, they should make it to where if you're not running the ball then your defense shouldn't respect the play fake, and you're QB gets sacked very quickly. It's been my experience that if the offense's HB's are riping the defense for 5-8 yards a pop then they have to respect the run and play more honest, that's what makes them more suspect to the play action. If I were a programmer, I would program the code to where if the oppositions running back is getting 4.5-6 yards a pop then the defense will bite harder on the play fake if that back is in the back field during the play action, and the blitzing LB/OLB/DL actually hit and tackle the HB, before they notice he dosen't have the ball.

Now on the flip side, if you're doing PA too much and not running the ball enough, then again I would program the defense not to respect the play fake until you go back to getting sizeable gains with your run game.

    Just my .02

    P.S.
Add me to your buddy list Doc and lets get a game in sometime. Either Madden ( which I have a feeling I'll like more than last years version.) or NCAA.
