    ***ring....ring****

    DJ: Hello?
NB: Hey DJ, this is NB of the Lions, I was just listening to your interview with Vg Blitz.

DJ: Hey, thanks for calling NB, congratulations on your Pro Bowl too. I gotta ask ya, Blitz really seems to have a hard on for Peyton Manning. Is that something you guys talk about? I mean, do you guys target certain players?
NB: Thanks.... as for targeting players, yea we do.... any player that's not wearing a Lions uni is a target.

DJ: But what about Blitz's obsession with Manning, is that a team thing or is that just him?
NB: Ummm.... any player that's not wearing a Lions uni is a target.

DJ: Okay I'm getting it. Let me ask you this then, Blitz mentioned that you've helped him as a player on the field. What's your reaction to that?
NB: That's a 2-way street man. The energy I get from guys like Blitz turns me into a live wire every Sunday. When we're on the field it's like we're all wired to one another and creating this huge nuclear reactor on defense. The chenistry is unlike any I've seen on any team in my career. Most of the time, BLitz and I could tell there's an audible and all we have to do is make eye contact before the snap and we know what the other is gonna do.

DJ: What's your take on Blitz's club incident?
NB: That's his thing to deal with. I don't care what the guys do off the field on their own time. There's only 3 things I expect when it comes to my team mates - 1. Be there on game day... 2. Be ready to play on game day .... 3. When the game is over, you can look me in the eye and tell me you left it ALL on the field that day. If you can't do that then get outta my face and outta our way. Fortunately, we got all 45-50 guys on this team plus 70,000 fans at our home games who give all 3 of those.

DJ: You're aways mentioning the fans.... and they have responded to that by coming to home and even road games in record numbers....
NB: I love the fans. I mentioned earlier about the energy from my team mates, there's another source of energy that comes from the fans. There are like the uranium that fuels our nuclear reactor. And the Detroit fans, man, after last season I'm sure half of them dropped off all their Lion jerseys at the local thrift shops. But winning cures everything for a fan. When we win, they feed off that, they get loud, they get rowdy... and that turns me on hardcore. the louder they get, the harder i want to hit someone just so I can make them even louder so they can make me hit harder.. it's an infinite circle of energy.

DJ: The team has won a lot of individual awards going into...
NB: We haven't won <censored> yet. I know that sounds kinda <censored> up but as nice as the individual awards sound, there's only one award that really means anything, that's being awarded a Super Bowl ring. We had a little get-together at Coach's house after the awards were announced ... big ol' bbq in his backyard.... every single one of us who won awards took a moment to thank every player who didn't win one because we know, we KNOW, that none of those awards are possible without everyone else. Just like we know a chanmpionship isn't possible without everyone.

DJ: I see. So how are you feeling healthwise? Have you been feeling the age?
NB: I feel really good. I gotta spend an extra day in the hot and cold tubs after game day cuz things seem to take a little longer to get back in place, lol, but outside of that, I may as well be 26 instead of 36 or whatever age i am. Let's say this, there's still plenty of hits in this body to go around.... ask anyone who's already been hit.

DJ: One final question NB, are you going to retire after this year?
NB: I honestly don't know. That's something I'll discuss with the family after the Pro Bowl. We plan on staying in Hawaii for a couple weeks after the game, vacation at Obama's house, and then I'll let the coach know. If it's the end then I hope to come back as an assistant coach or even head coach somewhere.. preferrably staying here in Detroit.

DJ: Hey NB, thanks for calling and good luck through the playoffs.
    NB: Thanks DJ

NFC Conference Championship Week: Dejay Blader Midweek Press Conference Transcript

Dejay Blader: Before we start with the questions I've got one thing to say to yall... PLAYOFFS BABY WOOOOOOOOOOO...

Q: So Dejay, tell us your thoughts of the VGLions in the playoffs.

DB: So you didn't see my reaction right there? Naw playoffs are what it's ALL about. I'm so happy - for the team, the fans, the city, my collegeues and friends. For me, I've come a long way. From London watching the playoffs on my TV screen wishing to have that one night only type shot, to actually being here - it's an amazing feeling. The team has deserved to be here and I'm happy for the organisation from the top down. Best record in the NFL as well - just goes to show what determination and hard work does for you.

Q: Do you believe you can win the Superbowl now you're here?

DB: Well I don't think you can get to this stage without believing you can win it. If we didn't believe, we wouldn't be here. Simple as. We have the potential, we have the staff, and most importantly, the support. As of right now though, let's just ensure we are able to have a shot at the trophy. We're taking this one game at a time. You can't win the Superbowl if you're not in the Superbowl.

Q: You're playing America's team on Sunday. They have just won their first playoff game and seem to have the confidence that theyre going to the Superbowl. Can you beat such a star studded offence and defence?

DB: Firstly, America's team? Nah... they're not America's team anymore. We are. Motor City's leading the way. In the economy. In politics. In football. And yes - we can beat the Boys. Because the Boys haven't seen our defence. Nuff said.

Q: Being the inside LB, you have a responsibility to cover Marion Barber or Jason Witten at times. What are you going to do about these big threats?

DB: Both are good players. Tough players. It is going to be difficult. But we'll gameplan the situation and see which is the most optimum. For Barber, he may not get the ability to run because he WILL be seeing 8 in the box. As for Witten, and Owens, and the other receivers, we believe we can play tough man to man coverage and Win. Why? Well we have some of the best secondary in the entire league on our team. Just look at the defensive awards. Not only will Romo get no time to throw, he'll being throwing to the best defenders in the league.

Q: You seem confident against the Cowboys offence, are you making the mistake of being overconfident?

DB: Well to the press it seems that way, but in reality we aren't underestimating their power. We see theyre good. We see they have great players. But you have to understand, in the locker room, we just believe we're that bit better than they are. So my perceived overconfidence is just a sense of belief that we can get to the Superbowl. Will it take a lot of hard work? Yes - of course. Can we do it - You bet.

Q: This is your first playoff experience, what can you describe of it, like the little rituals and things you do? What do you music do you listen to before a game?

DB: Hahaha that's an interesting question. You're right, this has been a surreal experience. It's so lively and intense. I'm just happy I'm here and really just trying to work hard to make sure my first experience is one the best. I'm a very ritualistic guy, so I do have to make sure I do my prayers the night before games, bang helmets with the defensive guys in the right order, touch that sacred field and pray before games... you know. As for music... hmmh that actually tends to change depending on the mood. On the coach I'll probably start listening to some TripHop (Bristol Sound people) then move on to some hardcore gangster rap of the early 90s. Wu Tang, again and again!

Q: Are your family here to watch you play?

DB: Yeh they are. All of them even the grandparents. They couldn't miss this for the world.

    Jordan Speak after Superbowl Win

Well, now that everyone is here, I would like to talk about me for a minute. However, before I do, I would like to talk about the people who got me here. First, I would like to thank the person who opened the first Taco Bell. You started out as a Mexican food maker who had big dreams. You then followed your heart, and have truly inspired me to go after my dreams as well. I would also like to thank the man who invented the .79/.89/.99 cent menu at Taco Bell. You are God in a human form, and are my hero. Without you, I don't know what I would eat after the game. Also, I would like to thank the dog. He is just extremely cool, and I love him.

Yeah, the game was great, and I have a new ring. Sweet. Anyways, before you all go, I would also like to mention that Taco Bell has a new taco buffet coming to a town near you. Thank you everyone and think outside the bun!

Oh, almost forgot. I'M GOING TO TACO B-- I MEAN DISNEY WORLD!

    Meet Adam Carter
    Press Conference With Rich Eisen

Rich Eisen: We're here today with two time AFL MVP and now VGLion WR Adam Carter. Adam, welcome.

Adam Carter: Thanks Rich. Glad to be here.

RE: You're coming off an incredible 180 reception, 2200+ yard, 60+ touchdown season in the AFL with the Chicago Rush, why the NFL? Why now?

AC: Well Rich, you know as well as anyone, the AFL is declining rapidly and the big money market is here in the NFL. And honestly, what better team to go to than a pass happy, reigning Super Bowl Champion team such as the Lions?

RE: Very good point Adam. But, you were the man in the AFL. You come here and you're really just another receiver. What can you bring to this Lions team that they don't already have with Alphonse Disciple and Wild Bunch don't already bring?

AC: What can I bring that they don't have? Honestly, nothing. I can bring another target to a solid quarterback such as Mister Harris to throw to. I'm not coming in here saying I want to catch 100 balls, 1200 yards, or 20 touchdowns. I want a Super Bowl Ring to go with my Arena Bowl Ring. That's what I want.

RE: So, you're saying you don't care if you don't get the ball? You just want to win?

AC: Now I never said that. I'm here to catch footballs. If I don't catch footballs, we might have a problem. As long as I see my fair share, albeit not that much, and we keep winning, I won't complain. Now, I need to go socialize with my new teammates. Bye Rich.

    RE: Uh, bye Adam...

It was a sad day in Detroit as fan favorite Steve Mullins retired unexpectedly.

A visibly shaken Mullins was unable to read his prepared speech, so his newly drafted son(who was dis-owned for sometime for going to Michigan) read the speech to the crowd.

My father would like to thank the loyal Lions fans and the Lions organization for their support. After Millen left this became the greatest franchise in the NFL. Do not worry! Plans of Movies, commercials, midget porno, and energy drink endorsements will keep Mullins in the public eye. He would like to wish his teammates good luck in defending their title. The will is there, but the body just doesn't function as well as it used to.
Mullins' son finished by saying he hopes to fill his fathers shoes someday and play like an uncaged beast.
But for now my father will ride off into the sunset on his riding mower to greener pastures. Going out on top. See you soon NevadaBallin.

WR Alphonse Disciple speaks to press after a recent practice...

Reporter: "Alphonse... how do you feel about your chances to repeat this year?"
AD: "Well, I feel pretty good about it all. I mean, the offense is looking like monsters. We'll hurt from the departure of Mullins, but we'll manage. He was great to have in the locker room and the huddle. But all in all, we'll have a good chance to repeat with our offense."
Reporter: "It kind of seems as though you aren't too sure about your defense... is this what I am hearing?"
AD: "Well, that's not what I said, but since you ask.. I'm not."
Reporter: "Do you care to elaborate?"
AD: "uhhhh... ok. It's no secret that the D doesn't force any turnovers. I mean, when the DB's get a pick, it's like a national holiday. I mean, I understand that a CB's is nothing but a WR who can't catch, but these cats can't catch a cold. I mean, I played both ways ever since pop warner all the way through college. Put me out there... I'd get a pick every now and then."
Reporter: "Does the rest of the team feel the same way as you?"
AD: "Of course. When the captains were announced, I laughed. Three guys from the D??? And two of them in the secondary? Ha ha. I mean, don't get me wrong... I love those guys and all, but we all know Harris is the team's captain. And we also all know that I could suit up at CB and get more I-N-T's than Morbid, Kill and Ballin combined. Real Talk. No offense to those guys... they just don't do their jobs as well as we do ours"

I find the recent comments from AD pretty funny.... lol someone may want to ask him why he never comes to my side of the field in practice.... he knows why, he knows it's because i don't go after the ball - i go after the body. There's a reason why coach has me as the blitzing safety. It's because I deliver with massive punishment, ask Marion Barber and Ben Roethlisberger ---- wait, I forgot, you did and you know what they said, "what was the license plate on that truck?"

As much as we love AD, he has to understand one thing - this is a team and this team can win with or without him. If he's not happy here or wants to start complaining & disrupting the chemistry by lashing out at the defense or special teams or the water boy, he can move along to another city. We healed the city of Detroit from absolute misery and as long as I'm a member of this team I'm going to do my best as a veteran leader and a captain that his T.O. antics do not disrupt the work that needs to be done to win another title.

With that said, I'm not taking any questions, we'll handle the rest of this internally and I'm sure that once we're all together in TC again things will be fine.

WR Disciple responds to reporters questions about SS Ballin' recent remarks...

"ha ha... really? That's what he had to say. Okay... I don't know how to respond to an 87 year old safety who can't catch a cold. I mean, can he hit? Yeah... back in 1983 he could. Ha ha. I mean, come on now. Why are you guys even asking me about this. I gotta get to practice. Ha ha and I guess I need to watch my back when I go over the middle today. Ha Ha Ha!!!"

Are tensions getting high in the Detroit locker room? How will the team respond????

    NB's response to AD's response:

"Like I said before, we'll handle this internally from this point on. If he wants to yap, that's his perrogative. If you want to listen to him, that's yours. I understand he needs to get all this attention off the field because he hasn't performed well enough to get it on the field .....and with a bad economy you guys, the media, need to find something juicy to write about. Well, "OJ" is over there (points to AD's locker), feel free to squeeze him for that juice all you want. Now excuse me, we have a pads-on practice today and ya know I love that "

"Welcome to another episode of PTI ladies and gents. And in todays episode we have more stirring in the Lions camp. If it's not all night parties on boats with division rivals the Vikings, midget porn star incidents or hookers needing stitches... it's some talk flying around the locker room. In a recent talk with reporters after practice, Pro Bowl WR Alphonse Disciple was asked about their chances or repeating as Superbowl champs. Disciple had this to say..."

"Well... It wouldn't be the Lions if there wasn't some kind of issue one way or the other right? I mean, AD last year threw a fit about not getting enough passes thrown his way while the team was winning. Then when Harris started looking his way more often... they dropped two straight. Then he calls a press conference about how he wants to be a team player and then has a Pro Bowl year. I don't know what to say about this guy. Here he is now... coming off a Superbowl Chamionship year... a Pro Bowl year, and he wants to throw his defense under the bus? I mean, they must have done SOMETHING right. I mean they DID win it all last year. And with Harris giving opposing teams' offenses all those extra chances to score... Disciple might wanna look in his own huddle before throwing stones into the huddle across the way."
