How the hell do i stop this WILDCAT!!!!

omfg so i was playing this guy with the Cowboys and i had the Texans.... all game he would do is Wildcat with Felix Jones and Marion Barber... i cant stop this at all... heres what he would do:

He would have Marion Barber where the QB is usually at, and then right when he hikes the ball he has Felix Jones run down to him and then he hands it off to him and then felix jones takes off from the side... i tried blitzing with 4-3 but all his linemen block the **** outta me so i cant even get near him... and the other way is he just has Marion Barber run with the ball..... how the hell do i stop this?

try using engage 8 show blitz then slide the linebackers to the side where the tightend is play on the safety and WHAM nail his *** when he runs

Dont use engage 8...wild cat will destroys that...try some contains on the out side and some heat up themiddle. You have to have some decent user skills to use the FS and come down and make the hit.

Dime Flat Overload blitz flip it to the side of the play. Or jet D quarter audible to blitz with the right stick. 3-4 is good also.

I used dime - all out blitz - user the mlb - re blitz and run up the a gap and hit stick them before they even really get moving. If you practice and time it right based on the motion man - you can get in untouched almost every time. If you miss him though you can give up a big play up the middle.

What I bolded has worked for me. I don't have one particular play, but I user my MLB and blitz thru the A gap for my opponent to decide where they are going with the ball, as some of the Wildcat plays have an option to run or keep the ball. WHen they have a defender in their face, the decision has to be quick. In the mean time, I have reblitzed my D-line in the direction of the motion (if the motion is from left of the screen to right, I reblitz the to the right and overload my LBs that way. If it's right to left, I just do the opposite). THere is no one complete answer, but the key is to force them out of the comfort zone of the WILDCAT GLITCHINESS!!!!! That's my 2 cents for the Wildcat.

Dont agree with that.....Just make not to load to heavy on on side because there are counters where the player could run to the other side that is wide open for a TD.

Wildcat Glitchiness may be extreme, but it does seem like the blocking scheme for Wildcat plays are very good. You must admit.

NO I really dont think that the Wild cat is glitchiness....you can really only run out of it and the passing is horrible for the most part...So you know what your opp is doing...im my opinion the Direct snap scheme is more glitchy because of all the other stuff you can do..The wildcat is not glitchy at all to me.

Well if they're running out of the Wildcat, then FG Block does the trick for me, as long as they dont pass out of it. I gotta thank Aaron10101 for that play lol.

True! FG block is the only play that stops it coinsistently, NO DOUBT! If i see that that my oopnent is going to try to abuse the wildcat, I pause the game and make FG block one of my audibles. WORKS EVERY TIME. I have noticed that guys that RELY on the wildcat are usually bums anyway and when I shut it down, they usually quit. It is the guy that incorperates it into his scheme that is deadly.

Is the worse play you can call on Wildcat, any type of all out blitz is horrible to contain the Wildcat. If some one knows how to run it right FG block will get eating up. Use middle heat but make sure you have some people on the outside also.

No disrespect but I have to disagree. I have played quite a few people who have used the wildcat and the FG block has been a successful counter to this play. You may be correct in the fact that “maybe” I have not met someone who is extremely proficient at running the wildcat and that is why it works for me but I have tried the engage 8 or an outside rush and they do not seem to be as effective. Each time that I use the FG block (which is another version of the blitz), my opponent either gets a 3 yard loss or a 2 yard gain. Another mitigating factor could be the teams that are used. If your defense is strong, then a traditional blitz might be effective, but if the defense is weak, “selling out” would be your only option.

It all depends on what type of Wildcat the person is running. If he's just running, then FG Block it is,but if he wants to pass out of it, then I'll just use Strong Blitz out of the 46.

How do you know if he is passing or not??? FG block does not stop the wildcat Some one tried the FG block when I ran the wildcat and I busted a 80 yrd TD. Im not saying my Wildcat is the best but FG and Engage 8 and any other blitz where everone is coming in does not work against it. Do what I stated above that works pretty well.
