Yup, that's how I like to run those DoubleZ/X/TE plays. I find this 4 man rush much more consistent than a basic 4 down linemen rush.

I also advise on blitzing off the WIDE side of the field since most people will rollout that way or just look in that direction since there's more room to pass. So basically you want to force your opponent to use the shorter side of the field where it's tighter to pass.

Good work. You can also do similiar setups out of the 3-3-5, 2-4-5, 1-5-5, 3-2-6 and Quarter. Basically any package with less than 4 down linemen. 4 Down linemen get sucked into blocking too easily and the DTs don't tie up the OTs as consistently with wide rushes. That 3-4 setup definitely makes for a good base man Defense.

No, not really because I don't trust my secondary (Chargers). I'd rather just pass commit and play safety. It's an overload rush, so it would get decent pressure no matter what off the edge, especially if no extra blocker on that side like TE. I say if there is not any extra blocking setup to account for the OLB, just let the OLB do his own job.
