nowadays,im seeing alot of this defenseive style,they would shift their line to the left(towards the re),and they pick up their LE and move them off the line and do some sort of defensive assignment on the LE and just let him go back on the line,this gets nice pressure,but i kinda figured it out by using slide protection,but wondering what the hell they are doing?

I do this sometimes when my opponent is in large 3rd downs with no backfield.
I shift my line to the right (towards the LE) and grab my RE and put him next to my LE to get a 2 on 1 with their tackle lined with my LE. and just go after the QB more easily.
I also do this and take my 3rd CB to blitz (gotta be fast) on the opposite side of my double team, so when he sees it and desides to move to the opposite side of my LE blitzing in.
I use the cover 2 sink, it has 4ppl in zone with my 3rd CB blitzing in and my 2 S covering the back.
