Spain did what I hoped Argentina would do with possession. but while argentina got all the strategy and player selection wrong, spain got it perfectly right. Xavi and all their players just are too good on and off the ball.

Viva Espana! They've been my team (other than USA) for a long time and I'm expecting them to end their drought on Sunday. In many ways, Spain is the Philadelphia Eagles of soccer. Raul (great striker from past Spanish teams) was a lot like McNabb: very good player who rarely came through when it mattered. Once David Villa (and Fernando Torres) emerged, Spain soared. Hopefully Kevin Kolb is our Villa
