    Defending shotgun 2b, and split.

What do most of you guys use against these offensive formations? I am curious to find out. I have had most success with the 4-3, 3-3-5, or 34 30 stack adj. against these formations. The 2b and split are great for the power spread and bring the option from all different types of angles.

I don't play enough against people. Against the CPU my D calls are mostly based on A) what has been working, B) how much pressure I desire to get (usually lots), and C) down and distance (3yrds or less: 4-4, 4-2-5, 4-3; medium: 3-4, 3-3-5, 4-2-5, nickle; long: nickle, dime, 4-2-5).

I blitz pretty much every play and every which way. I am a firm believer in pressure, especially in this game where the pass catching is so bad. Blitzes are effective against the run most of the time and if you can get the QB to throw off his back foot completion %'s go down in a hurry.

...Well being a power spread guy and using these formations a lot....I would say that the D that gives me the most trouble (and I'm not quite sure why?) is the 3-3-5....(and the 30 stack if someone knows what they are doing with it )....

It's a bit difficult to tell what formation they're using unless you're playing a human opponent offline. I usually call defenses based on the offensive personnel, field position, and down and distance. My base is the 3-3-5, but if my opponent uses base personnel (2wr, 2rb, 1te) I'll mix in the 3-4 with the the 30 Stack adjustment.
