My only problem with this whole thing would be the way EA handled it. If they would have addressed this early and gave us the heads up, I wouldnt have a problem with anything because I knew an answer to what I needed asked. But EA didnt address it, and guys are scrambling all over looking for answers, while EA is sitting back already knowing the answer but just not informing us of it. I understand there wasnt much that you could do to the ps2, in terms of upgrading it. But taking online out is taking the heart out, and stomping right on it. Since this is more than likely the last madden for ps2, I thought they'd have some class and decency for the ps2 gamers and leave this feature in, but I obviously was wrong. Still charging you the $40 for it like it comes with a maximum of features when the main feature has been removed. All I can do is shake my head at this situation and EA, but then again I think about it.... It's EA sports, you can pretty much expect them to do things like this. EA is probably the most succesful, most popular, yet shady-est gaming company out there, and they consistently get a lot of non-needed praise for their work. They rarely listen to customers, they rarely care what customers have to say, and just do as they please at their own discretion.
I'm not the type to go on long rants, and im aware that all good things come to an end, but its just extremely crushing and heart-breaking that it has to be and end like this. What an outrage!

thanks for the pic, its sad how on the EA officail website they show the PS2 box with an online logo eh. pretty sad on them, i will never buy another EA product ever!.
How long will the madden 10 servers stay online for? at least the length of the season? will they update those rosters at all?

I am going to take a position that might night be popular for many people.
Sony as been milking the PS2 brand and giving longtime and new users the false impression that developers will continue to support the PS2 brand. Their are literally hundreds of great classic games, but gamers what the latest version.
I sold by PS2 in 2006 and leaned towards my recently acquired XBox. The last Madden Version was in 2008/9 and I had to search long and hard before buying it online.
I have a Wii and tried Madden on it. Different, but not what I came to expect.
I stuck with Madden 09 until I bought a PS3 this past March with Madden 2010.
Sorry folks, the PS2 cost $99 and the game only $39. While I agree that online is a major portion, it costs money to run those servers and the sales figures just did not support it. The end is near. Take the strong hint and check out the various bundles. A 250GB PS3 was selling for $349 with 2 games the last few months.
With the last post by cowboy what did that have to do with the topic of the post. If i can recall it was about the ps2not being online for madden 11. Not about your person buying issuse now im not trying to get smart but you made a choice and with that choice you decide what system best fit your needs. So what are you saying that we all should follow your lead and do what you did and that will make it better place. Look dude you have an opion and so do i but dont make it all about you. We have the right to chose what gamming system fit our gamming needs and it was aparent that ps2 was just find. Thats my 2cents worth alc

I have no reason to get madden now. Online play is all i do on it. This is the last time im buying this game. its a lot cheaper to never buy this game again than to buy a stupid ps3. Goodbye madden
Not to chim in on your post but there are rumbling that ea is considering about doing a do over for the ps2 game.Due to slow sales and orther problem assoicated with this year madden 11 game. So hopefully this isnt just a way to spark hope in the ps2 community but this can come to be a real fact about this issuse and this year madden game. ALC

Just came from that forum and it has been confirm that madden 11 wont be redone and there wont be any online capablities for this ps2 version of madden.
It was just a strong rumor that gain speed but with all the calls and posts that came in they decide to set the record straight.
So it look like the sun has set on the ps2 version and system peace alc
My question is why is this post being ran like it new and someone is posting on it when it isnt. Yes we all know that the ps2 post are down and pitfull this madden season. But to continue to run this post and see that it is the same thing should have been caught by vg by now. Lets accept it that when ea kill the ps2 gammers they also effect the forums as well posts are down and only one market and system has something to complain and say. Good job ea
