Our hometown fans demanded a better performance and the Steelers delivered. Darren Mc Fadden lead his team with 2 big runs in a game surrounded by a lot of big plays including a strange fumble that was given back to Pitt by the refs and a reset of downs. Coach Harbaugh could only laugh at the refs blowing yet another call.

Needless to say our defense isn't close to playing the way we should we too many big plays and yardage away this season.

Coach Tomlin " We are men and we must perform like men" Know our assignments and it is on me for us to be better prepared.

ya know ya could have punted the ball back to me after that fumble :/ it would of been 4th and long, instead you got your downs reset. Eh, i would have anyways

I agree but as mentioned in my note to you there are many anomalies the game produces that fall into this category. For example I fumbled a ball near the sideline in which I called for a fair catch and was never registered by the game. Hence I lost the ball. Or the blocked field goal that mysteriously happened. So yes there are many instances where this happens.

The game has many flaws. Some more manageable than others. I put a man in man coverage to align yet he doesn't and your player runs free for a touchdown.

All this to say many things happen in the course of a game that are subject to the reasoning you suggest. Others are more visible which was the case with that fumble recovery and reset of downs issue.
