Up to 100,000 protest Wisconsin law curbing unions

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2011/...27540420110313

Looks like they really got the Pro-union people super motivated with their actions. Might be a good thing when all is said and done, other states who wanted to do something like this are thinking twice now.

It's a joke how they use the deficit as an excuse to enact these sort of policies.

I guarantee you not all 100k are "pro-union." That's Walker's problem -- he kicked the hornet's nest and pissed off more than hornets. I think it's beautiful.

There's no right to have a government supported labor cartel.

I guess they should have went for the more direct approach and just layoff teachers instead. Teacher unions don't seem to mind that though the union boss probably misses the dues.

The NJEA didn't budge on any concessions so the towns had to layoff a lot of teachers, they didn't even blink when that occurred. So in the end paying union dues in NJ is like paying the mob for "protection." You can choose not to be in the union, but your career as a teacher will be a living hell.

How is that a personal attack? I'm attacking your ideology/position. Not you. Might want to call your fallacies a bit more conservatively next time.

I didn't call it a fallacy, did I? You also didn't attack my position with your comment.

"Personal attacks" are ad hominem fallacies. Please keep up.

So "warped ideological bull****" is actually a personal attack? And not an attack on your ideology? Did you ever have to diagram sentences in school? It's a skill that might prove useful to the current argument.

If your intention is to dismiss my argument by claiming I have a warped ideology, then yes it is an ad hominem attack.

Then I think you need to spend a little more time learning what an ad hominem attack is. For instance, "You're a moron" is an ad hominem attack. "That is a moronic statement" is not. Like I said, sentence diagrams would really help in this situation. You need to know what a direct object is. Let me know if I can help.

In the hypothetical it was, I never implied that is what happened. If it makes you feel better, I could have said insult. You can rest easy at night now, and yet you still haven't argued against my claim that there is no right to a government supported labor cartel.

Your question itself doesn't even make sense. "Labor cartel." Nice attempt at an unbiased question. lol.

Would it have been better if I labeled the teacher's union, a goverment supported extortion outfit.
