Grab point producers first. Worry about filling spots later.

Depends on what others in the league do. Like Gav said, Points win out overall.

In a 12 man league, high scoring QB's are more important as you don't want to be the guy with the 12th best starting QB. Also, it is harder to grab that "gem" qb as there are two more teams on the hunt for him too.

I'd be taking a Qb in the first 3 rounds most likely unless the great ones somehow all get picked before my turn.

In my 12 man last year, only team that made playoffs that didn't draft a Qb early was the guy that grabbed Vick off the wire.

Just drafted this team in a 12-team auction

    QB Josh Freeman
    RB Ray Rice
    RB Steven Jackson
    RB/WR Ahmad Bradshaw
    WR Mike Williams (TB)
    WR Hines Ward
    TE Jermichael Finley
    D/ST Packers
    K Matt Bryant

    Bench
    WR Lee Evans
    WR Emmanuel Sanders
    WR Jason Hill
    RB Jerome Harrison
    RB Ronnie Brown
    RB Tim Hightower
    QB Mark Sanchez

My receiving corps should be a struggle but I'm happy with the RBs, QB, and TE.

10 team league and I had the 8th pick. I wanted Vick/Rodgers but by the time I went 8th I went with Jones- Drew. Then I got Charles with the 13th pick. Did I seriously effed up?

Not at all. I've never seen Charles go any later than the 5-6 pick in any type of league besides TD only leagues.

I am going to assume this league went QB heavy (Shaub at 28). The only things I would have done different is taken someone else other than MJD and I wouldn't have taken Shaub at 28 and instead waited a round or two later to take like Big Ben/Ryan to pair with Cutler. I also am not a Colston fan.

I just found out I have the third pick in this weekend's draft, and I'm not sure what I'm going to do. My two friends are picking before me and I'm trying to figure out who they'll select. My other buddy may be trading up to #2 and he wants to take a QB for sure, Rodgers or Brady (odd I know). I'd assume Foster will go first which leaves me at #3 choosing between AP, Charles, or Ray Rice. Even though it may seem too early, I've really been wanting to draft Ray Rice this year. Flacco dumps off to him like crazy and he could catch more passes without safety valves like Heap and Mason around anymore, and I don't think Ricky is a threat to steal all the goal line carries like McGahee.

Charles I am a little worried about because their schedule was cake last year and I don't see his TD's increasing a lot with three backs on the team and a crazy head coach who insists on listing him as second on the depth chart. Peterson may be due for regression soon, and the team has no vertical threat and a much worse offensive line. Any objections to selecting Ray Rice?? It seems crazy to pass on Peterson who is an every down back, but I really like Rice's situation.

No objections at all. I wouldn't do it but that's just me. BAL plays PITT two times per year so I usually assume Rice/Mendenhall won't help me for 2 of the fantasy weeks each year. These are two most dominant rush D's every year it seems.

As bad as MINN will be, I don't seen any D's I'd be afraid of. I have the 2nd pick in a draft on sunday. 1st guy isn't taking AP...I will be.

4 QB's went before my first pick. Then Brady went before I grabbed Charles. In hinsight, I should have grabbed Brady first, then RB second. I also have Plax for red zone TD so I can replace Colston with Plax

Didn't get any of the RB's that I wanted and I felt like the players I wanted went a pick before mine every time...

    QB: Michael Vick
    RB's: Maurice Jones-Drew, Steven Jackson
WR's: Mike Wallace, Santonio Holmes, Pierre Garcon
    TE: Jason Witten
    K: Matt Bryant
    DEF: Pittsburgh

Bench: Joe Flacco, Julio Jones, Beanie Wells, Brandon Pettigrew, Brandon Jacobs, and Davone Bess

It is 12 Team, Standard Scoring...what do you think? I'm kind of down on the lineup, but the projected stats look good...

gonna be real with ya...Too many EARLY risks for my blood. Vick, MJD, Wallace imo. Wallace only because I believe he won't get as many long td's as last year and he isn't the type of wr to be a true number 1. Vick you know about but he wouldn't be such a bad pick if you weren't risky anywhere else. MJD has no knees.

Well thanks for the input. I was running so many different simulations, but I never expected to go #9 and have 8 RB's taken off the board in front of me. As soon as I took Vick and MJD off the board, I had one of those facepalm moments. The 10th guy took Brady and Rivers (which makes no sense), so I just kind of panicked and snatched up Vick. Otherwise, I was looking at MJD, then Brady/Rivers. Seems like most people in the league are pretty active, so I'll see if I can shoot off a couple of trades.

alright guys... who should i take with the 3rd pick in a 14 team PPR league. Scoring is the usual... 6 for a td run, 4 for a td pass, 10 rushing yards=1 pt... etc...

IF the 1st guy taken is Peterson, the guy picking 2nd is going to take Vick... or so he says.

Do i take Foster? kinda worried about CJ with all thats going on with him. Then there's Rice, Charles, and McCoy( had 78 rec last year!)...

    any input would be nice...

    thanks.

I think I'd have to take Arian Foster if he falls to the third spot. I know Bones is down on him this year, but I think worst case scenario is he still gets around 1500 total yards, 10 scores, and a lot of receptions. I'm not sure if he's an injury risk, and even if other backs chip in, Foster still rules their run game.

I also like Ray Rice a ton, as I've said earlier. Depends on if you believe in Foster's 2010 or think Rice will become elite. I also love McCoy this year but I wouldn't draft him in the top half of the draft due to his sporadic yardage totals and guys like Rice and Charles will probably do what he does but slightly better.

Chris Johnson is completely off my radar at this point, I'd maybe take him at the end of round 2 but I need a safe pick in round 1 who will actually play.
