Run Defense Help

I know this is a question on all kinds of boards this year. So, bear with me. I'm trying to figure out how to combat the run in my franchise league. All the simple things I'm attempting (Cover 2 Buc, Pinching d-line, spreading lbs, etc, certain blitzes) don't do enough to shut down the opponents in my league, so far, this season. I'm a relative newcomer -- 2nd year in a long running franchise league comprised mostly of veterans who have been running this league since the beginning of Madden.

I play with the Saints and so far I've been using their 4-3 playbook for run d. Anyone have suggestions for e-books, def playbooks (I know, I know....46, 46, 46), or formations/plays with a few changes that can help me? Most e-books seem geared for online play. Most blitzes get eaten up by these guys. I need something to contain the run so they have to contend with my pass d. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Sgibs playbook on 46 is pretty good. Definetly test that out its 19.99 really good boook

You need to hide your blitz and come for all over the field, don't always blitz from same side and when your not blitzing from the same side you have to make it look like you are. This may help you. your opponent is going to see your blitz then figure out you weren't blitzing that side and when he thinks he has time he'll see the other side blitz and may force a ball or 2 into coverage. As far as stopping the the run I like cover 1 man and move up the MLB that's in zone and your safety that's in zone. You now have everyone accounted for and the zone guys with help if it's run and drop back if pass.

Agreed. Get the 46 book and hide your blitzes. For pure run stopping I like the 52 and spy the 2 lb's
