    No more!!!

It seems to me that these politicians want to police the world. The next president I vote for will promise to uphold the Monroe Doctrine. America's soldiers aren't policemen. If we are at war, it's war. Iraq and Afghanistan should have either been left alone - or they should be smoldering craters by now. I'm sorry if this isn't the politically correct thing to say. These soldiers have their ducks in order; they are tomorrow's leaders of our country - whether through politics, commerce, or service. We have lost entirely too many soldiers already and now I hear rumours of soldiers being sent to Africa to "police" things there. I have lost friends in Afghanistan and I'm sick and tired of it. Bring our people home!!!

Also, don't lead with our people. Let's instead lead with a missile or grenade. These humanitarian efforts are getting too many killed. We are either at war or we are not at war, but it's completely unfair to ask our soldiers to be humaniitarians while our opposition is clearly in full-on war-mode.

I can't wait to vote Obama out.

Agreed, Gav. I think I'm voting for Ron Paul this time around.

If we could of handled Iraq like we did Libya think of all the money and lives that could of been saved?

Afghanistan and Iraq were Wars to make money, the longer they lasted the more cash was made for those involved. There was no gain for anyone involved to just go in quickly and achieve their goal and get out. One we were in it became a big political cluster Fug with the GOP calling anyone who wanted out "Weak on Terror". Just look at all the whining from the GOP candidates this last week when Obama reported he was going to follow Bush's order to be out by the end of this year.

I really doubt any of these GOP candidates have a chance at being elected. IF they do, none of them would make things better. It was these same people who got us where we are now. How does putting them back in office to do more of it help? No President will be able to overpower the military industrial complex, any president that tries would be out after one term. The president isn't as powerful as most think.

Anyways, the system is broken. People are to divided. The only way anything will change is if we get a full blown system crash. Unless that occurs nothing will get done but arguing while those really in power continue to do what they want to.

What I don't want is more humanitarian war efforts. If we are at war, let the soldiers do what they have to to be safe. That means leading with explosives, not men. If it isn't serious enough to warrant explosive marches, then it isn't serious enough to send out troops in at all.

I have friends that are soldiers that say that if they weren't fighting the terrorists there, we would be fighting them here. Instead of risking their lives there, we should double our efforts here. As far as I'm concerned, it isn't a money issue. Spend it here or there, it makes little difference. I'm just sick of wasting the lives of these soldiers. If it's war, let them fight - but these humanitarian efforts are just not the right way. These soldiers are expected to walk into these hotspots. All the armor, guns, and training in the world can't help them stay safe if they have to keep their weaponry on hold until they are fired upon.

The soldiers all hate Obama. That's usually a telltale sign of a weak and crappy president. I just hope the GOP doesn't break out another dud.

In terms of campaign contributions from the active military, Obama is second. Ron Paul is 1st though with more than 50%, and war monger Rick Santorum got a whole $750. It's pretty clear the members of the military want out of fighting a war with no clear target and no end in sight.

I'm through with being ok with using the military to police the problems of other countries. War means make them a smoldering crater. Anything that isn't worth doing that for isn't worth going to war over.
