Since taxes are withheld from your paycheck outside of your own choice, it's your money.
Building a bridge out of necessity is one thing. Building one for employment is worse for the economy. Look up the Broken Window Fallacy. What I'm saying is that entire concept (IRS refunds) in wacked. Investing it in projects like infrastructure (things that the taxes are meant for) would put more money in people's pockets in the long haul. Putting those dollars to work will put more people to work.
Taxes are the government's money once it's deducted. You also have the choice to not have that deduction taken out of your paycheck (that box on the W4 form that says exempt) and deal with it later when you fill out another form where it says "you owe". Then it's your choice to pay it or deal with the consequences later. There's your choice. No taxes is not an option unless you are looking to live in a third world country.
There's plenty of infrastructure in this country that needs to be upgraded which are necessities.

Re-read your original post. You certainly did make that representation. You posted a link, and then made comments about the people who are in the 50%. If my exemptions and such, like deductions for children, give me more back than I paid in, how is that my fault? Not everyone makes a six figure income, you know. I work my @ss off at my job, and I made under $40k. It's the price you pay working in a social services field.
