Anyone knows the correct way to play the 46 bear defense?

I have look at youtube and i have ask this question many of times. But it seems that there has to be a correct way to play this defense set in madden 12. Is a quick fast acting defense that only good against the short yardge run plays. Or against the quick passes to either the te or running back. Can someone clue me in on this and if you can provide a set up or 2 to help me find my way it would be much appreciated. Thanks ALC

The Bear is a type of "front"

The goal of the defense is to occupy the Center and 2 Guards on offense. From there you can have different looks with your other 8, but Bear simply means having 3 lineman take up both guards and the center.


with 46 Bear, you can crash the line left and sneak a guy off the edge. It is also good against the run as it brings players in the box. Its not a great man to man pass defense, because the LB's usually line up together on the right. With Zone, its okay over the middle, but really weak to the flat and sideline on quick throws.
