    Just Traded Pujols....

Was offered Carlos Gonzalez and I couldn't turn it down.

Buster Onley mentioned that scouts see changes in Pujols's swing that he believes cannot be fixed DURING the season.

That was the straw for me...

Lets revisit this thread in 1 month.
Welker a possesion WR's just like all Caucasian WR's so when you can no longer do that, you gotta sit the bench or learn how to kick FGs or Punts -STICKTHEVICKTIM

Good deal. The problem is the fact that Pujols owners were stuck with him for a month's long of horrible production and there's still a good chance he can turn it around soon. However, he looks completely lost and is too arrogant to make any changes or admit that he's struggling. I think he will probably end up with 20 HR's still but his overall numbers won't be that good, and he'd have to go on a huge tear to post up decent numbers.

Everyone thought Adam Dunn would turn things around last year and while he is an entirely different player than Pujols, he still adjusted horribly to the AL then was fine the next season. We may see that happen with Albert.

Adam Dunn actually tweaked something in his swing and that's why he is producing this year. Just a simple adjustment. Much like how Jeter went down to Tampa to rehab last year during his DL stint, met up with a swing guru he trusts and now he's hitting close to .400.

Pujols needs a year to get used to the environment and AL pitching. He's a creature of routine and i'm sure he's still getting his bearings together. For that contract he deserves to be criticized immensly, but in my opinion the guy is still Albert Pujols. An 11 year track record that makes you say "oh my gawd". He'll figure it out, but for fantasy purposes this might of been a good deal. Even the great "A-Rod" was almost fools gold for the Yanks in 2004.

It's bizarre because I think everyone believed Pujols was the one guy who would still be a stud wherever he went, penciling in 30+ HR's and everything that goes along with it was almost as routine as waking up and brushing your teeth.

He should figure it out, but I'm starting to believe it won't be this season. Still, it's crazy to see such a bad return on a 10 year deal already when they clearly went all-in. I'm hoping after seeing just about every deal over 5 years fail that teams will quit doing them but it doesn't seem to phase them. Werth, Crawford, Soriano, Zito, Wells, need I continue...

dan uggla syndrome. now i know pujols is leagues better than uggla but the same thing happened to him last year. signed a huge contract with the braves and started off in a slump and couldnt get out of it. he was putting so much pressure on himself to perform because of his new contract and the result was him hitting in the low 100's. something just clicked later in the season and he was able to pull his average up big time. Great hitters can make an adjustment, but it can happen at a blink of an eye. once pujols finds that adjustment, look out, but i expect him to continue slumping for a while.

I like the deal. Cargo will outperform Pujols ROS. Plus you can't go wrong with a power bat in Coors

Interesting, I had Pujols in two keeper leagues coming into this year, let him go in one and kept him another. Was worried about the switch, but figured he wrecked it in the World Series and was a beast so he be fine. I'm sure he will come out of it, however there is no way I would ever recieve a player of Cargo's caliber back for Pujols right now. I would say it's a pretty good move for you, although Pujols will most likely even out with Cargo if not finish with better #'s. Prob a smart move by you tho.

I think he was trying a buy low sell high. Cargo was ranked 11 coming into the year and so far is ranked 3-4 behind Hamilton and kemp. My team was basically sunk by Pujols so far so couldn't take the chance of an Adam Dunn like season by him

Pujols 3-4 with 3 singles and 2 rbi
Cargo 2-5 with double, single 1 run and 1 rbi

I traded Neftali Feliz and my 3rd round pick for Pujols and his 4TH. I think Pujols turns it around before the All-Star and starts tearing it up afterwards.
