I am going to wait till the game drops. After all these years of playing madden and coming to the site, i don't fall easy to the hype anymore with all this fluff talk. What i will say i am happy about tho is the finally after atleast 5 or 6 years put
man lock or diguise coverage where the corner won't automatically alighn infront of the wr in twin sets. That was a current gen tactic that we have been screaming for years to crossover to the nextgen. Finally people will have to read the defense after presnap and dilute the people who like to comeout in compress sets to see what your defense is in.

My info guy won't get back to me anymore, so I'm much more in the dark than in past years.

Those that have the game seemed initially WOW'ed by it, but I have very little concrete info on the game.

I'm gonna take the "wait and see" approach. To me, I am more concerned with the plays begin interesting than anything else. I am somewhat concerned about the physics though. It could end up begin exactly what Madden needed or it could end up being a complete disaster. And honestly, even if the physics ends up being really good, it will have been forgotten two weeks after release.

What are you looking for in plays Mich? Route combos, concepts, "dynamics" ( just kidding Gav), double moves, stemming, formations? I had an idea for more hot routes. Example: you hit up on the d pad for a streak but a linger hold gives you a deep post. Longer holds for the routes that take longer to develop. I do like the whip route as a hot route now. It's one of the more underated routes in the game.

I can't speak for Mich, but I want complete sets with compelling plays that work like they're supposed to.

I miss formations like the I Form Tight Twins from PIT in 08. I miss the plays from the Trio formation from ATL, also in 08. I would love to see some of the triple TE bunch formations SF was running last season. I also wouldn't mind seeing some 20 yard digs routes. It seems Madden doesn't do routes that cut beyond 12 yards.

I think the problem I've had with Madden is that some routes are just so much better than others. It gets to the point where some routes are just not even worth using.

As far as defense goes, I want blitzes that actually work. An example is a play that the 49ers used a lot with Aldon Smith. He starts off from his OLB position and then loops inside through the A gap. Or when a guy like Freeney would loop all the way tot he other side of the line. That stuff just doesn't work in Madden. The plays are in the game, but they don't work as intended.

Another thing that drove me nuts was that there used to be plays in which the DL would fake a rush and then drop back into zone. This would often (admittedly too often) fool the OT allowing you to overload without sending too many guys. In M11, those plays no longer worked. Actually, they wouldn't even fake the rush. They would just drop straight back.

im with you on the playbooks mich - i want to see more creativity from them moving forward. i really want to see DESIGNED blitzes that are effective - I also want 4 man pass rushses to be effective as well as stunts by dlinemen
