All time starting 5 for me

    Magic
    Jordan
    Bird
    Duncan
    Kareem Abdul Jabbar
He's still a choking douchebag. A chip puts him in though.

My favorite player of all time is Charles Barkley, and even though I have him second behind Duncan for All-time Power Forward, I can't justify putting the 6'4 Barkley in over the 6'11 TD. Barkley was tremendous, but he couldn't defend great post up players. McHale used to give him fits.

I think this should show how ridiculous using 4 games as the ultimate defining standard is then, particularly in a team sport.

Exactly. Not even four games.. imagine if it was a tied game going into the last minute of a game 7. Suddenly if the Heat win that last minute, LeBron is an all time great? If the other team hits a game winner shot, he's a failure? It's all kneejerk reactionary BS.

People were saying if the Thunder win the series, Kevin Durant would be the best player in the world. No. Kevin Durant will be the best player when he's better than everyone else.

If Durant would of excelled and had the Thunder won the title, there would of been plenty of evidence to support Durant being the best over Lebron.

You can't be the best if you dont perform in big spots.

But it didn't happen that way, Lebron excelled, his team dominated and Lebron showed why he was the best.

Agreed, but if OKC wins that means Durant is hitting everything and including big time shots down the stretch, while Lebron is most likely missing shots and not playing well, then it there could be a case where you say, well Durant is just the better player.

Yes, fine, if KD outplays LeBron, you can say he's better. But if LeBron thoroughly outplayed KD and the Heat still lost to the Thunder? I guarantee you millions of amateur Skip Baylesses and Jim Romes would start touting KD as the better player, regardless of actual ability.

Exactly. KD is awesome but he doesn't bring as much to the table as LeBron does regardless of the result in the series unless you're going to stick with arbitrary narrative like stuff that cant be documented like many of you do (Durant has it, LeBron doesnt, and my favorite.. LeBron is "mentally soft) etc

But when you win championships, it has a much bigger effect. Durant being the player he is, winning over Lebron would of casted a lot of doubt as to Lebron being the better player.

But again it didn't happen. Lebron has been the better overall player all along and showed why.

Yep, Im thankful.. An entire offseason of Durant is gonna be the next Jordan and LeBron is the softest star ever articles would have made my head explode

The media wants nothing more than to prop up a Lebron antithesis so they can run story after story parroting a good vs evil scenario.

Exactly. Besides the fact that I like LeBron, that's why Im happy it happened. I think it's for a greater good, as they can now stop beating the same dead horse they've been beating for two years.. I know the next dead horse is "can Durant win with Westbrook.. He's not a PG.. Trade him.. Durant should shoot 45 times a game.. etc etc"
