what you see now is what the league is running, what we remember (glory days of playbooks) had crazzzzy formations which unfortunately need to be removed because teams dont run them anymore.

at the same time they listen for feedback. I went in and asked "Hey the Pats run this Gun Trips Twin TE formaion (last seen in madden 09 in the pass balanced playbook) and they said ya we will put it in if they ran it enough. I said "ya they ran it a ton".

guess how many times they ran that play last year? ONCE. I think im pretty level headed but i let me homerism get the best of my memory there.

If theres formations you want me to ask about - let me know.
I disagree i think the playbooks are more like 50% of the actuals. Why did the dev team reduce the number of formations/sets/plays? Even if a team runs a play once a year it still is in the playbook average number of pages for NFL playbook is 600-800 but in Madden the number of plays per book has been reduced by 30-40%... why? I understand the team can't possibly include every single play but to strip the playbooks down makes no sense. If anything the the plays per book should have increased instead it was decreased.

I see mixed posts regarding customs ..in or out? Thanks for sharing the information that you have gathered to this point. Much Appreciated

    God Bless!

The new more realistic physics engine is certainly a step in the right direction, but to expect it to be perfect right away is to be beyond optimistic. This year is going to be a little bit of a work in progress. Be patient. The brand is moving forward and that's a good thing.

If I can tell anything about Madden from the NCAA Demo, it is that a greater element of randomness has been introduced into the defensive AI. Alot of players are seeing this as issues to be dealt with, but I believe it will add an element of excitement to the new game - especially early on. Call the same O verses the same D and the same result isn't going to happen every time. The defense is going to play differently based on the decisions made by the individual defenders. This will mean receivers will break wide open at times when they shouldn't. It will also mean defenders will be sitting on routes at times. Those that can recognize these decisions and take advantage are going to have success. Those that try to read and respond to the defense based on their recognition skills gained from playing past Maddens and acting without looking are going to go through many a controller on the path to many EA blaming rage quits.

Inv, I've heard that custom playbooks are in, but I don't know for sure.

The guy who does the play books is a VG original NCAA content writer Mad Bomber. He deffinetly implements what the real NFL does. Guys need to realize the league runs similar plays with different focus areas.

I have read and seen conflicting rumors on the custom playbooks in Madden 13. I read somewhere that they are in the game but are not available for Connected Career Mode. This would make sense for ranked and unranked games. SGibs is there anyway that you can confirm if any of what I have read is true?
